Yeah I find that a bit funny, you and Fin are both monarchies and the UCSR is the only red on the Continent.
Note to self: Don't eat Shroomanian food.

Shroomanian food is good. But Enemies of the State (terrorists, foreign spies up to no good, criminals and syndicates, etc.) should literally watch what they eat.
EDIT:
And mang, the Vineyards. Let's totally destabilize that new prick.
Where's King Brandon exiled at? Shroomania? Shinra? San Dorado?

The Vinish CFR territories.

So Karmic, are these coup fellows going to have no problem with the Syl base, give me a polite note to GTFO, or try and pull an Iran embassy takeover on me?

No one in the coup group's inner circle has a problem with the Syl base, so unless you do something to necessitate a response by their administration, then no.

Ok, well, we'll see. It looks like I'll probably end up having to support King Brandon in exile since, well...pretty much everyone else is? Unless the rest of the MESS takes the Tian Xia route of saying "fuck 'im" and/or the FTO party line of "it's an internal matter" or something.
If I do oppose it though, it'll be made clear that the Syl base is leaving peacefully. Although it may empty anyway as a precaution until the situation in the Vineyards has 'stabilized' (read: we'll wait a couple weeks to make it look good, then move back in quietly).

Goddamn Karic!
EDIT:
Canissia is AWESOME!
WHORES!
What else is there for us to discuss? Maybe we can do some ceremonial friendship tours where I visit places and stuff and kiss babies and take pictures of Canissian tombs and pyramids!!!

Look at some pyramids, check out some heads... far away from your mattress, where there ain't no beds. Sleep inside your sleeping bag.
Sounds cool!

GAH!!!
Stop doing that, people!
EMBASSY GROUNDS ARE NOT SOVEREIGN TERRITORY OF THE SENDING STATE!
They enjoy special status, but NOT sovereign territorry. Do you need a visa to enter a foreign embassy? No? There you have it.

I feel tempted to join in the fun, as in, happily divert a bunch of fighters and warships who happen to be sailing in to take a look at the new CATO base.

We don't want to alarm the MESSheads and other nuts by flexing our muscle on a bunch of fringe world yokels who don't know where their loyalties lie!
Let the FTO handle this mess. Or the MESS handle this mess. At least then folks will be distracted by our basings in Coil Cove and Langley land!

The FTO won't "handle this mess" because it's an internal affair of a member state, and our mandate doesn't allow us to interfere in such matters.
EDIT: And now that I think of it technically I guess the Vineyards could invoke our Article 5 if anybody else intervenes militarily. Hmm. I'll have my lawyers look for a loophole...

Well, it so happens that I'm both MESS and CATO as well.

The loophole is obvious: if Jeffrey's government is not recognized as legal, they can't invoke article 5.
Of course, Shroom
did recognize Jeffrey's regime by allowing Shroomanian diplomats to deal with him as a head of state. Tsk, tsk...

Yeah, I figured as much. I guess we won't be recognizing his government as legitimate, though my diplomats will still be in the city, just in case.

Meh, you just setup customs stations at the exits from the mall, and charge them that way. Even better, if someone returns an item, and gets something else, you get customs on both items. Not something you normally get with sales taxes.

Similar coup, but with the support of mainly civilian institutions, anarchists, socialists, and liberals instead of the military, nationalists, and conservatives.

So, can I laugh at everyone who supports Brandon because he's the "legitimate" holder of the throne? (note for the clueless: that's rhetorical, I am laughing). By all rights, everyone who does so should really be supporting Jeffrey then.

I am doing so too, because while I think that Brandon is the better, nicer, more fair, better supporter of internationalism, ruler, he in no way is the legitimate ruler.

Why, nations tend to support the claimant who is most likely to co-operate with them and serve their national self interest?
I am shocked!
Shocked, I say!

Yeah. I don't really care how Brandon got the throne, he was a good ally and business partner and I don't like the sound of Jeffrey's plans.
Also: 'Ere we go!

Legitimacy is a hazy term anyway, so we can throw it around freely
