And no, it really doesn't. Because so far as the rest of you are concerned, IC, I don't have to justify anything Shep ever did. Because he died in a bunker after the Pathogen Wars.

EDIT: Which is to say, if anyone ever asked Rufus Shinra, "How do you justify keeping Shep alive?" that is my answer: I don't, because he's dead.

Yes, it really does. It's already been made clear that Sidney Hank didn't buy the official story on "Rhee Ahn" even for a minute. He now knows what Heraclius saw and heard. In short, even if he can't prove to the world what's happening he's most unlikely to trust any of you ever again, and will advise the NFT accordingly. That's the price you pay.

WelL I've gone and done it now...

FEAR My evil nasty scary SPIES! Watch in HORROR as they take pictures of landscapes and pretty touristy spots! Flee in TERROR as the observe the lovely natural beauty of the Old Dominion! And RECOIL! As they buy kitchy knicknacks from people in the countyside!

Hm, I don't know if you want world leaders. Last time that happened, it didn't end well. In theory Foreign Minister types (or better yet, Economic Ministers) would be better behaved though.

EDIT: It probably wouldn't hurt if you had some kind of subject, topic or focus, too. Just 'showing up' to talk is the path to madness. :D

I gave a topic, its Business, anyone that wishes to work out a trade deal wiht another country, anyone that has been perhaps wanting access to someone else to discuss sales, spending, military and the like, is free to do so here. It is also a place were Ministers can discuss current trade pacts and, hopefully, foster enough goodwill to expand them to lesser nations.

You know, one thing makes me wonder. San Dorado manages to achieve PROFIT as a corporate nation by (unsustainably) fucking over its own people in a truly Robber Baron fashion, but how does Crossroadia do it?

A "Profit first" philosophy doesn't mesh really well with all those great things Crossroadia has like a social security net and comprehensive free health care.

So, Crossroads, how do you plan on getting any information? Hiking into the Shepistan Security Zone? Trying to break into one of the literally hundreds of bunkers throughout the Old Dominion Proper? :D

Because EVERY company in Crossroadia is considered a "Franchise" of Crossroadia itself. If someone wants to start a company, they can apply foir a loan from, the Crossroadian treasury to establish a company. If that company becomes successful and turns profit, it is consider part of the over all meg corporation of Crossroadia, and pays a portion of its companies profites to the government.Company. Basically my people pay MASSIVE Taxes. All the huge corporations that make money up the yingyang Also pay massive taxes as well. It takes large chunks out of thier profits, but it placates the people.

If everyone has craddle to grave health care, high-class schools, social security etc, well, people tend to not get upset, as much, that a large, very large, portion of thier paychecks, along with most corporations, are going to the government. And since the government "owns" most all large coporations, things like the sale of military goods, Zepplins, cars, all that goes back into the government. In the end, as long as most corporations in the nation turn a profit, so shall the "government"

Never, we are out to make money, just, not money at ALL costs. Keep in mind, my country is run as a proper corporation, IE, we don;t operate in debt, we don't print money just because we can. If we want to buy something we actually have to budget for it so everything is nice and in the black at the end of the year.

A "proper corporation" actually often does operate in debt and "prints money" (sells obligations) all the time to finance its operations, FYI.

And yes, you are communists, you just go out of your way to call it by a different name. What, you think communist countries don't want to sell their products abroad? :D

I think I'll write some "blog posts" about Crossroadia ;)

San Dorado sustains itself by exploiting the deluge of immigrants from the (even) shittier parts of Frequesue who come into the city-state each year. That's why we've got no illegal immigration laws. As long that stream of migrants keeps up, we're pretty much golden. And let's face it, the Sprawl may be a craphole, but life there beats starving on the Costa or in the CFR.

And there is a reasonable degree of upward mobility in San Dorado. Even if you're Sprawl-scum there's a chance you'll be scooped up by megacorp headhunters as long as you've got some kind of talent and aren't a complete nutjob. Of course that means you'll be contractually bound to the corp for quite some time, but hey -- you get a nice little apartment in a residential zone. Congrats, you just escaped the Sprawl!

UH-oh San Dorado May be screwing itself by supporting measures to stabilize the CFR then. Whatever will you do when people figure out staying put isn't that bad when local conditions improve?

Unless..... San Dorado is secretly sabotaging all nation building efforts on the continent to further its bottom line and sustain the lifestyles of its rich and bloated plutocrats!!!!!

:D Don't give us ideas...

Seriously though San Dorado is currently being tempered in a not-insignificant way by the NFT, two-thirds of whose member States aren't hypercapitalists. And even then, it'll be a long time before the continent is up to the same standards of wealth as the NFT.

Speaking of which, what's the current status on the Costa? Are those peacekeepers gone? Have elections been held?

Also added an entry for history-fluff-background, but that's up to the approval of players who have their countries mentioned (Rogue, Beo, Wilkens, Phong, Shroom).

On another note Seigetank I'd be careful with this coup plot you are putting together. So far it is resembling the plot in Equatorial Guinea that was bankrolled by shady British businessmen and fell apart messily. If fiction follows fact here though it should comfort you to know that the businessmen never were held seriously responsible despite the utter failure of the plot.

Speaking of the Costas, that reminds me I should do an update about the peacekeeping mission in the CFR soon as well.

Given the situation started back in what, 2015? I'm quite sure the elections have been held, though peacekeepers may still be on the ground.

We're all just a bunch of lazy gits who won't come out and do anything to confirm it. :P

That's amusing, given that the description Marina gave [for Bissarau] was similar to Equatorial Guinea, and even said as much.

Coincidence?

I shall grant my Official RogueIce Seal of Approval.

On an unrelated note for Crossroads: you might want to "sign" this (ie: stick your country on the list of signatory nations and we'll say you signed it back in the day).
