"Moudkyp"! Heeheehee!
Remember, publicly, all I've done is send one carrier group, which is a paltry force, so the obvious deduction is that it is the run-of-the-mill muscle flexing to show we mean 'business'.
The Canissian media has reported a number of smaller mobilizations and an increased pace of Naval rotation, but the bulk of that "internal memo" was just that-- a classified internal memo. Few outside Canissia will know about the enhanced recall time on the fighter and bomber forces, etc.
I put the memo there so it would show that I had alerted some forces in case shooting
did start, and I responded, and people couldn't wonder how I got my forces spun up so fast.

Couldn't resist. Too easy to make that pun. It was super-fun to write, though.

Al-Moudkyp is supposed to be some Klavostani guy for whom they named a major throughfare.

I never really intended to post that article anyway; I just took the opportunity to seize on the Mudkip pun.
Maybe the creatures are native to Klavostan and were also named in honor of al-Moudkyp...

I'd have to rework the concept a bit before I can actually finalize it.
So, al-Moudkyp was a famous Klavostani. Maybe one of the Zorian biologists who discovered the creatures in the Dragonsnake River wetlands was a Klavostani by birth and thought of al-Moudkyp when naming them. Maybe they were native to Klavostan all along, and they somehow managed to stow away aboard a cargo ship headed towards Zorian Velaria. So many possibilities...

Holy shit. I look away for a bit to work on the wiki, and suddenly Siege is about to take control of both Sabika
and has the Winter Army on his payroll? Where the fuck am I supposed to play Pseudo-Benevolent Expansionist Technocrat
now? Veleria?

I like the former of these two backstories.

You see, stuff like this is why people like Brandon better. His purges don't involve shooting people in the head...
EDIT: Also, what's Jeffrey's reaction to cutting of diplomatic ties? Several nations have done that, and are evacuating their missions.

The Shroomanian Embassy is fully operational, and like political refugees can flee to it.

Before anyone does anything like warfare on that impertinent usurper, might I know what is the exact plan for unseating him? Might I remind you all that warfare is likely to set back the Vineyards by a decade or so in terms of development?

I'd suggest having Jeffery thrown out by The People and such. Publicly executing politicians and shit isn't going to win him any support from the populace, so I guess we should totally go for the People Power option. Have FreeCom - San Doradan, Vinish, Gizmonic, Shroomanian stratellites - broadcast uncensored condemnations and news of Jeffery's atrocities. Have King Brandon declare statements to instill courage and whatnot to The People. Have the Canissian Coalition - MESS, CATO and FTO alike - fund the rightful ruler of the nation. Protect him, give him support.
It won't be conventional warfare. It won't even have to be warfare. It could be a battle of hearts and minds. Win the people and all that! Hah!

Your neighbors sitting across the Strip might notice it.
BEOWULF
you suck
On one hand, Jeffery is a dick. On the other hand, if we stick our noses into this foreign affair and fuck it up like what the Americans and the Soviets did all over the Cold War and end up ruining a Third World nation, then we might as well not bother. If we can't do it right, might as well not do it at all.

It's nothing like a threat, man.
I'm just saying that you folks should be prepared for an awesome series of spectacles that'll make the Secret Agent Elephants Ryan hates so much mere intermission numbers in comparison!

Dammit, Shroom. I was just starting to get over that one, too...
You know, I get the humour of it. It was pretty funny. It was just...

Technically, Brandon was the usurper. Jeffery just got his rightful throne back. Brandon came to power via coup, after all.

Yeah, but Brandon was well-liked by th epeople; Jefffrey is an autocrat.
I mean, technically, Mussolini was the rightful leader of Italy, but...
