I don't see why the arguing continues. The result is that a relatively unimportant mage (an unnamed mage) is dead and Laz's race has learned the rules that govern the DND Mage class, and now Aly has a stronger defense grid. This is not worth bickering over. Let's just call this a "no harm no foul" or else this will really drag the game down. Tactics on both sides were a bit questionable, and no one will do it again. Ok?

Come on, people.

Sure. Would stuff like "Mages cast so many spells per day" or "Wizards learn from scrolls" be ok?
What, for your own newly advanced Goa'Uld troops? Fuck you.

(I hate being at school while all of this is being discussed, I miss half the thread)

Go ahead, try to learn something, Once he doesnt show up at the barracks in oh say... 5 minutes, diviners will scry on his location.

problem solved

That is just it... laz WILL do it again. He has done it over and over again in every RPG he has participated in on this board

Here is the problem. He is basically stealing every state secret I have with that post. Goa'Uld have a genetic memory IIRC and if he takes over a high level mages mind and then mass produces Goa'Uld mages.. he unbalances the game massivly in his favor.

I have NO TECHNOLOGY MARE ADVANCED THAN GUNPOWDER. He is basically taking the one edge I have, and then augmenting it with his own tech level.
STFU and read the aggreement I just made, the mage's resisting distroys most of his memory, I get only a few scraps.
That would be acceptable.

I call Bullshit. The ability to know where any person is at any time is so fucking godmoding. What's to stop you from using that to track any ship you see.

Watch SG-1 dammit, they are just slightly less stupid Jaafa.

And knowing the very very basics of how DnD magic works DOES NOT LET ME CAST SPELLS.

I've alllready aggreed. The reason it goes on is because Aly is a little fuck who holds grudges. Nuff said.

Alyrium, if we ever get into a ground war, are you going to pull shit like

::::::My uber 1337 mage of doom shrugs off your puny weaponz fire and casts 10,000 uber spells of 1337 death that wipes out your whole army MUA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA ::::::::::?
I would never do that, I have quantified the abilities of my grunts. But he took someone who amounts to an officer out of my territory when i have 1/7th of my fleet in system. YHe did so with complete immunity.

I will note that Laz has powergamed in every D&D game we have played in, we have had to kill off and remake him what qwas it... 4-5 times in one campaign...
Uh.......read the thread. He DID detect that. It's just that as long as I cloak quickly, and leave even quicker, he can't really act on that info.
You realize that we have astropath that detect cloaked ships right? Hell that is B5 tech level.
Oh yeah, sensors that can detect cloaks instantly ISN'T powergaming. I see now.
It is within the tech level DS9>Babylon 5. Detecting the minds of a ships crew would alert the vessel in question to a cloaked vessel, maybe not its location, but its presence.

DS9 tech level. Call up the computer, know where any crewman is at any given moment. Its well within Trek capabilities.

1) It's still powergaming.
2) That does not matter, you knew a ship was there when I exited hyperspace. All the cloak did was keep me from getting shot long enough to grab and run.

You dont get it do you... tracking one of your own troops is far easier than tracking someone you dont know. Consider it like a transponder tag.

Hell, we can track our own shit now. We know exactly where our mars landers are for example.

A transponder tag that cannot be blocked, sheilded, or removed. I still call bullshit.

No this continues because I refuse to allow Laz the ability to sneak around anywhere he likes and pull off anything he likes while there.

The Mage is a military officer, it makes sense that when he turns up U.A that they scry for him.

This is the second time Laz has snuck into a highly militarized zone and done stupid shit. It's powergaming.

You never stated that you did.

Besides, it isnt as if I casn easily block your transponder tags. It is a two way street.

STFU.

I CAN'T sneak around anywhere because once you know a vessil is there is's only a matter of time before you find it, it's just that the time is greater then twenty seconds FOR A SPECIALLY BUILT STEALTH SHIP. Am I going too fast for you?

Agreed. And he WILL keep doing it. Read the Forgoten realsm game and see how many characters he went through because of his powergaming crap. He killed him off so many times...

Can the DS9 computer tell you where their prison cell is if they have been kidnapped by romulans and then strip searched?

Jeebus, you must hold some kina grudge to mention somthing that happend awhile ago in ANOTHER GAME.

And the mod has ruled in my favor, deal with it.

DS9
Sisko "Computer locate Lt. Commander Dax."
Bab5
Sinclair "Computer Locate Commander Ivanva"

Funny everyone seems able to do it! Using Divining magics to find people is old shit in D&D. Tagging officers for easy locating is old shit in Sci Fi. Get over it. You can't block it BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW ENOUGH ABOUT MAGIC TO BLOCK IT!

So now you have the almighty sleath ship? NO. The cloak in DS9 is the tool of uber sneakiness you are painting it to be.

20 seconds in system? Seems a little inconsistent with earlier posts, doesn't it? In the first version, you hung around and scanned for magic (with what sort of scanners, I know not). In the second version of your story you had a spy on the ground knock out the mage and beam up with the body. Again, this requires you to either scan or be in communications contact with the spy or both. None of your posts have indicated that you jumped to hyperspace as soon as the mage was on board; instead you've always tried to attach the symbiont first. All this takes more than 20 seconds. You're just pulling an outrageously short amount of time out of your ass in order to make our attempts to counter look more outrageous, but when you think about what you're trying to do in all of those 20 seconds, things begin to look fishy.

You can stop the computer by, oh, you know, TAKING THEM TO ANOTHER FUCKING STARSYSTEM.

Not so with his divinig.

Shut up and think. You can impant the symbote while in hyperspace.

The scanning thing was a mistake, so active scanners won't give me away. A passive scan will still pick up a surfase transmission.

I am just letting them know what they can expect from you.
And dont expect my government to sit on its ass. They may not be able to get a location.. but they can see what is around him, that means they can see the Sarcophagus, and tell there is a creature inside him that is trying to take over the CNS...

A computer would be damn quick to note that officer so and so left the system without orders. Militaries taking a dim view of desertion and such you know. It's possible to me that if a power has FTL com that computers could look for an officer in several different planets in a short amount of time.

As for the divining, magic is suppose to break the laws of phyisics much like your cloak and 20 second kidnapping run!
