Just a question for that intercept system...

Was it rated against a MACH 25 weapon? I was under the impression that some hypersonic MIRVs are rated for that speed.

What do you care? You're already dead. :P

PS: The Shroomtober needs to be found and destroyed. Because of the name.

*wonders if he could get an international treaty restricting the use of Shroom-names*

No, probably not. :(

That can be the odd Shroomanian version of the name. But yeah, it'll never be called that by the Shinra Republic.

And I can promise you: "Groinland" will never be on any Wiki I admin. Just so you know.

How about Groenland? :)

I'm going with what Czech proposed, myself: Grunland

I suppose Groenland is an alternate pronunciation, but not for the page title. Wikia does have a do not post/upload/etc "obscene" material policy. And yeah, I'll likely be a bit prudeish in enforcing that when and where I happen to see it. Because I'd rather not risk it.

I've been requested to make a clarification.

The North America continent with Shinra, Cascadia, etc. is named America. Because "Messica" sounds dumb.

*takes out Mod hammer Modner* So let it be written, so let it be done.

Hrm, Modnir works better, but I wanted to replace the entire first syllable of Mjolnir.

Haha, ho boy. I sorta like Mr. Wade. No body though, which is what matters in these affairs. And why do I have the suspicion he's going to turn up in New Sumatra sometime soon?

I love how this game looks like its going to end in nuclear war again. :P But anyway I will be back soon. Try not to blow up SDNW. I don't want to come back from my 17th to see a forum version of DEFCON play out. :P

Yes well, you'll note THIS time around I am trying to stay rather neutral in affairs, that, and I have in the works "The Mother of ALL missile defense Shields" planned.

The world may end up Burnning again, But I'm not letting Crossroadia go down without a fight...

Which Reminds me SHROOM!!! SHROOM!!! "You" may be dead bu you still rule your country... As the only other 'big' Island nation near me, what is your military strength at? I am starting to look for more private allegiances away from MESS and CATO incase things between them go Pants.

The only number I gave was the entry speed of the space to ground rounds at 15,000 mph (or around Mach 20). This was before their terminal boost motors kicked in so the intercept was succesful at somewhere in the MACH 22-27 range. The system itself can place a KEI round in the kill box up to ~ MACH 30, for the Sprint with its huge lateral G-acceleration I couldn't say the system limit because Beo developed that one. Anyway the KEI can reliably hit a manuevering target in LEO up to its ceiling. The Sprint doesn't have the same ceiling as its a terminal defense weapon but it has greater lateral G and thrust (the KEI has better ISP since it is a long range intercept weapon).

I don't speak for Shroom, but Shroomania is a CATO member.

Mind you I have something similar going with them at the moment. A gentleman's agreement, of sorts. Technicalities to placate the snivelling masses. :P

Side note the test has been on the backburner for a while now but the KEI, STAR and Sprint are all systems that have between half and a whole decade each of field service. These aren't test sytems we are just trying out but rather devices we have fielded for the entire existence of CATO and then some. Hell the KEI and STAR systems were the first major upgrades I set Wilkonia towards back on day 1 of the game. Anyway the MESS won't be "ramping things up" or otherwise "taking advantage of this situation." The point of the post was that we had never bothered to actual put declarations out there on the system capabilites excepting the Wiki so I felt it was time to put it on the story thread. We won't suddenly be going around subtly tellign folks that we have a nigh impenetrable IADS system because A) in game the national leadership has known this since 2012/3 or so and B) Its a defensive system you don't brag about defensive systems because somebody can always saturate them if they are willing to take a lot of losses in return.

This heartens me, I would like to see just how far this current game goes without "RL" annoyances and grudges ruining things... At the core of it, this whole "Game" is a sort of Gigantic 'Model UN' put a bunch of nations together and see if you can keep them in equaliberium, or, give in to that whole "basic human instinct" thing and nuke us all to kingdom come...

I for one think...so far... things are going rather nicely, The shep incident Not withstanding. I don't know how long I can keep Crossroadia neutral, I may eventually join up with CATO, but, I would like to hope that we could get a world government going to the point where someone like me didn't NEED to align with either MESS or CATO.

That said... I am still going to build the mother of all Missile shields around Crossroadia... And not say a lot about it because, as Wilkens says, it is harder to bypass a Defense, if you don't know what it is.

Shroomania's OOB It's not fully updated, but it's a fair approximation of Shroomania's military capabilities. We're CATO, by the way. But Crossroadia need not enter any alliance, or CATO, to be superbestfriend buddies with Shroomania. :D
