A single arrow, fired obviously fired from a longbow, streaks out of the forest and lands 20ft outside of the town wall. There is a note attached.

I borrow a pencil/pen from someone, write "What happens if we surrender?" and shoot it back into the woods.
I also send someone to start ringing the town bell to rally the men to the walls.

Tsaroth activates mage armor, and boots of haste.
Keenan activates mage armor and casts false life on himself (+1d10 +5 HP)

How about Magic Range? If so I fire a fireball at them.
As you begin to cast......
Kobold: SCATTER!
The kobolds leap in all directions, you manage to kill 3 and severely wound 1. (the kobolds were holding their actions, waiting for you to cast.)
The dead and wounded are dragged away, and the wall of battle is reformed.
Spark: Damn. Their trying to get you to use up all your spells.

Keenan casts Protection from Arrows on himself, Tsaroth casts shield on himself, and ICe Storm on the Kobolds
