Works for me.
Yes, except for the perviously mentioned edit that I get a few scraps of info like "Magic items have charges" or "spells are measured in levels."
Laz, let go of that, and we'll get on with this STGOD.

Get your head out of your ass for half a second.
YOU DON"T RESPOND TO "GODMODDING" WITH MORE OF THE SAME!
Jesus christ. You guys are like Isreal and Palestine.
Seriously, accept the fucking proposition as is. If you want to learn about the MAge's methods, then why don't you just have one of your spies ask someone? It's not like it's a big mystery how they work...
This is faster, and i'm not planning to take the mage alive as that would be dropping to his level.

I lean ABSOLUTLY NOTHING fomr this without those details. I'll drop it when pablo directly orders me to AND NOT A MOMENT BEFORE.

Me an Aly have reached an aggreement, I get a few scraps, as long as I don't actually learn any spells.

the Scrying Spell detects only that the mage is horrily wounded and probably incarcerated. The function of the cell in which he is seen is undetected, and his thoughts are unreadable at those ranges.
How about this
The mage is detected in said coffin etc. However, the message is relayed TO EARLY to put two and two together and figure out it is the Goa'Uld who just so happen to have a vessel undergoing customs inspection.
We dont know it is them. However, if someone ever gets a hold of the same information at the same time...

If you insist. I'd like to say that that's a pretty childish way to handle this.

That is perfectly accetable, however remember that many goa'ould have cargo ships, so knowing that it's our race dosn't not point to me right away.
Hell, we even sell ships to lesser powers sometimes.

Excellent! The matter is then settled.

Which still leaves me with being told "Nuh-uh, you miss, nyah nyah!"
Edit: For the second time this game.

That is the kind of attitude that will get everyone pissed at you, and you will lose a second race.
And Thirdfain, Aly accepted the idea that Laz learned the basic rules of how mages work from this. It has no bearing on the game whatsoever, so it doesnt really matter. But you are also right. Aly, both you and Laz are responding to each others godmoding with more godmoding. The correct place to settle it is here, OOC, not by posting crazy shit back and forth. Let us leave it at where I put it before, with Rogue 9 seeing em but not getting in close enough, Aly missing the mage but unable to find him, now with a better security system, and Laz with basic knowledge about mages, stuff we all already know for that matter, and the inability to do anything like this in the future. Now, let us hear no more posting on this. We have taken up 3 pages in the OOC thread saying nothing.

Oh, FFS... I leave for a couple hours to eat, I come back to see that we've added five pages of debate, which caused us to settle on the solution which was already proposed five pages ago.

yeah, what can you do. Lets hope this is the end of it. From now on, try to think big picture. The argument over details is what made this last for 5 pages.

Tycho, you are not at that meeting. Butt out.
Laz, you seriously think you can tight beam a transmission to one of your ships that's inside a spacedock without the spacedock being in the path as well? I let you get away with close range laser communication, but I don't care how tight beam the transmission is, it will spread out over interstellar distance.

In other words, you just let everyone read your damn mail. Way to go.
Yes, Captain Tycho is not there at the meeting. I'm sorry if I wasn't clearer on that post.

I know, tightbeam was just flavortext to explain why the ship could record it at all.
I assume that many other people can read it, that's why it's in code.

Wait, wait, wait. How many people are at this secret diplomatic conference? At last count it was 5: Krytos, Psilon, Nashtar, UP, and Arcane. Now Rh'illorans are there, too

? um..... hey, can I come?

The people at the meeting are ambassadors from the following powers
1: The Nashtar Republic
2: The Psilons
3: The Arcane Empire
4: The Krytos Star Empire
5: The United Protectrates
No one else is there or is aware that the meeting is taking place.
It's cool Captain Tycho, I'll put better labels on the next post to avoid mistakes. Sorry.

Bugsby, might I point out that a major condition of the negotiations was that we would
not outsource mass amounts of labor?

Posted: 2004-04-26 08:58pm
by frigidmagi
Not to mention that since the talks are top secret our corperations don't know anything yet!

by Bugsby
I know, thats why I did not strictly mention labor outsourcing, but also increased trade. That was one way of saying that the corporations on each of those worlds are now showing increased interest in business on the other worlds. I know you want to try to keep this secret, but free trade simply makes that impossbile. Free trade means the corporations would get into it, which means people outside your government, which means I can find out. If you want me to edit to change the wording slightly I will, but the trade-disclosure is the angle that Im going for, and its legit.

Nutcase. The talks aren't even over yet, until they are nothing is going on. Since the talks are top secret the corparations in the U.P and other nations don't know shit is happening.
Futher more the U.P just made contact with the rest galaxy not to long ago, you aren't going to figure anything out because there gearing up for trade with the whole damn galaxy for the first time ever.
