I don't get it, why the confusion?

It's simply "red eyes" along with an extreme dilatation of the pupils, all thanks to the usage of flash at point-blank range... right?
Oh, and Divine Shadow, if I may ask, was that last shot taken at work? Just mere curiousity, that's all...

I think the unusual freakyness is the result of the pupils being the same color as the background, thus making your mind uncertain about whether this is a surface feature or a hole in the head. Optical illusion sort of thing.

Well, here's one that was taken this sunday. I and a couple of old friends of mine were passing through a park, and one of them asked me to take a picture from him near the pond. From that point on, we spent around an hour just taking pictures from each other. Since I was the one taking them, they only managed to get two shots from me.
