The term 'Shroomite' has been thrown around a lot before, especially directed towards RogueIce - that big, fat
Shroomophobic bigot.

I'd give you fair warning, an integrated IADS system makes carriers look cheap by comparison. The STAR battle management system and the KEI/Sprint missile combo took roughly 10-15 years to get out of development and spent another 2-3 years on fielding and testing. Putting an IADS system together takes time, money, and lots of available technical resources. The MESS system, collectively between all member nations including R&D costs, is somewhere on the tens of billions magnitude per nation per year.

Still cheaper than the damage of getting bombed to scrap. Plus spending it forces ones opponents to spend bucketloads of money improving their means of delivery -- virtual attrition for the win!

To go further on that, the Old Dominion STAR IADS has not yet reached it's goal of 20 STAR AD sites on Sheplant, with a 21st site on Sirnoth. It's big, expensive, and...uh...expensive. The OD specifically designed the
Ronaldus Magnus STAR CAGNs so that they could operate in the Continental defense role(being a slightly smaller STAR IADS site that can move).

Thank you for the heads up... Hopefully I will have the proper time to appropriately "research" and the deploy a high end Anti Missile system. Hopefully the fact that Crossroadia is much smaller then other nations, and an island, which gives it (hopefully) more warning time, should make things both easier to develop as well as slightly cheaper. This is, hopefully, something I won't be putting on every ship in my Navy, but in, eh, 'things' (won't say what yet..) around my island to detect and take out missiles.
That Said.. it IS a VERY long term goal and is something I'll just hint at every now and then.
On another note, Thank you SHROOM for the OOB, gives me a good sense of what a nation my size is capable of. Also I hope to see your representative at my Economic Conference, I have a new trade idea I want to put forward between the two of us.

Dude, you don't have to develop your IADS from the ground up. There's a bunch of super-nice people on the Old Continent who will gladly take your money and set you up with state-of-the-art missiles, radars and battlespace management systems

My representative to the Crossroadian Economic Conference will be none other than the head of the Sovereignty's Ministry of Shroomanian Trade Affairs and Business Budgetary Economic Regulation (STABBER).
Director Dick Donovan/Donovan Dick!
Along with the CEO of the MacMillan Megacorporation himself (and one of the head honchos of Byzantime Air MacMillan/BAM)!
Michelangelo MacMillan!
And the CEO of SchromKorp!
Viktor Schrom!

Alternatively, you could buy STAR IADS from the MESS(I don't know if you would get the full version or an export version) or, since the system is so expensive, always looking at the bottom line, etc. I believe Tian Xia had an AEGIS Ground-based IADS at one point. Since you have some AEGIS warships, using an AEGIS system(which might be "just good enough") would shorten your logistics train.

Good thing I pointed him in the direction of Tian Xia and not the OD, huh?
Besides, he's already "back-purchased" a substantial kit from the Domino Military-Industrial Complex by including
Neuse River Patrol Frigates in his OOB.

MANG! I was thinking of a pink-colored naked man ruining people's subatomic shit through QUANTUM SCIENCE.
Perhaps the Japanistani sympathy towards Prime Minister Shroom was due to the Prime Minister's secret deal with the Japanistani Emperor, wherein Shroomania would secretly export super-awesome sportscars and other luxury products to the Japanistani nobility and ruling elite for... hrm. For certain benefits. Or perhaps out of genuine good-nature and generosity?
And I guess a whole shitload of the Shroomanian shit - in movies, videogames or whatever - that makes it through Japanistani censors would be highly popular in that country. Like Shroomanian pornography! GAIJIN GLORYHOLE GAPING!

For which I will contest vigorously because other tahn the method proposed, which has a higher probability of working, others have yet to prove that they work and produce net energy. Polywell hasn't either nor has it ever been scaled to the size required. Moreover, Byzantium and the CSR have been investigating the properties of plasma at its huge tokamak reactor. No one in the field will dare say they can achieve net power fusion within the next 10 years. Anyone who does is desperately trying to over sell the science.
And oh by the way, you ahve to replace your reactor liners every few years, short of killing everyone with neutron radiation. Fusion reactors are a very different beasts from fission reactors. There's no more 20 year refueling cycles anymore. More like 3-4 years maintenance cycles. There is a reason why they are going to spend the next few years in Japan spending billions to study materials to withstand neutron bombardment.

Fingolfin has been posting for, like, forever on fusion research and stuff. Did Beowulf post some fusion stuff as well?
But yeah, maybe I might've missed it. Unlike grumpy old Emperor Heracliuses, or dramatic King Pauls, or scheming Sidneys, Shadys or Stanislavs - or even lecherous Loinstars with those weirdo Wade dudes - those other dudes just leik to post nothing but technical weapons technology upgrades and its easy to just gloss over them or mistake one for another.
Why is it that we CATO guys get the most amusing stories and the most well-characterized world leaders (with the notable exception of the Goddamn Loinstar and Sheppy Poo), anyway?

He did, solely on polywell fusion, which remains iffy if it can scale up to the required power levels. Lonestar "may" have posted on fusion either in thsi game or in the last.
On the other hand, ours requires that the reactor act as a neutron source, and not the source of power. Not to mention, if Thorium is used as the liner, we could produce U-233 to be used in PWRs.
