Well, it is an attempt to save him from himself.

He's only going to get his soldiers killed, and achieve nothing. This is not the way to deal with those warlords.

Plus, running supply ships to that firebase is going to piss off Saddamistan, and it's only a matter of time before one of those vessels eats a missile.

Team up with Crossroads, pool resoruces and you can have TOKAMAKs or something soon, with ITER-like stuff later. It took years to make with resources at hand, probably still years to mke here - higher tech base, but also smaller economies.
Yeah... at the moment, most of my resources is committed to building a functional FBR and getting it to work better than the FBR that Russia built in recent times (order of 1600MWe).

A low priority commitment to Fusion is possible, though realistically, the technology may never be reached until like.. a year (real time, game time 20-30 years?) from now?

Well how's that for a bit of civil unrest?

btw do you think that the Fungal Axis will send some care packages to the Bear Republic's "Sydonian Immigrant Community"? (or do they need any, well obviously some more ammo, and fire extinguishers.)

 Another war, and this time it's not my fault.

I guess the FUNGAL AXIS is going to have to decide whether to help Baerne or make him pull his forces back.

Still FUNGAL AXIS vs Goddamn LIbertopians could be fun.

If you want to drive your economy into the ground and chew the fuck up out of your military forces, I guess.

Going by a rough guesstimate (I belive Libertia is about the size of a Tsardom) it's between Iraq and Somalia in size. No single country (let alone a Duchy!) has any prayer of pacifying it on their own. Hell, I doubt even one of our alliances could do it. Maybe if the whole world went for it, but I wouldn't place bets on that ever happening.

Frankly I think anybody trying for a powergrab or "long-term peacekeeping" (however you wish to dress it up) is simply being foolish. Especially since Libertia hasn't even done anything to us. I would ask a rhetorical question of "how could they" but frankly there is no 'they' to do anything in the first place.

The Shinra Republic is not going to get involved in any foolish and ill-advised attempts to send troops into Libertia, and would view any such action as a thinly disguised war of aggression and a power/land-grab by anyone who does. It would take a major event concerning Libertia to alter this position.

I dunno if Stas used the area I put the map as, but my original design for Libertopia's the exact size of Somalia, though the blood-slicks in the water possible expand the territory.

Just because it's in the news, doesn't mean it's true, especially when it's really a cover for a black project.

Beowolf did you shoot up 20 satellites in one day?(24 days ingame) That's one every one point two days, which is rather impressive. Rather unrealistically impressive.

I see your post for 5 test satellites for the Lowell GPS system, and GPS requires a minimum of 24 satellites for functionality in our world, but because of Saddamstain's claim on space you need an addition four satellites to because all your orbits have to miss his country. It would be much like if Spain said any space craft over it's country would be an act of war, it screws with orbital mechanics so badly that you have to swap your orbits in order to get things to work, and the dead zones created demand additional satellites to cover or you get 2,000 dead zones with no coverage and other areas with interment GPS coverage.

It should be noted that it doesn't matter too much if there's dead zones, if said dead zone aren't in the archipelago.

EDIT: Extra points: you can launch more than one satellite at once, especially with such rockets at Delta IV Heavy. And it's been 43 hours. 7 launches over 43 days, results in about a launch a week.

24 satellites are required for a full satellite cluster(Universal orbit), not 14. Otherwise you have dead-zones or hours with no access. You need extra satellites in case one breaks

Yes you can put multiple satellites in orbit with a Delta IV but how the hell are you going to get them into their orbital slots? It's not like a rocket can cruise around drop a satellite off in it's proper orbit then double back. You get one shot to drop something into an orbit then it's thruster's only, yes you can send your birds up with extra fuel but that's HEAVY and reduces the number of satellites you can send up with once.

Heck the "back-up" GPS satellites in orbit around the RW have just that feature, they are bigger than normal in order to carry the extra fuel to slide them into the correct orbit to fill the satellite they need to replace.

*Edit and your dead zone is going to be Saddaimstain plus whatever you don't get cross-ways. The Shinran republic comes to mind as having large dead-zones as a result of less than needed number of satellites, it's either dead zones or dead-time. Terra Libertia is another, unless you dedicate the three satellites needed your going to be SOL for coverage down there because you can't weave them.

Half of the satellites were going to be launched from the Lone Star Republic, and we have not finished that yet, Remember?

No I don't remember, that's why I try and release informations like "I built a launch complex ya'll" which is why no one has to go back and ask how I've got seventy satellites into orbit since Day 1, I have four launch complexs plus the International Launch pad at Atlantis.

Then perhaps you should read Beowulf's posts more throughly. :)

Delta IV Heavy: 12000 kg to GTO.
Galileo sat: 975 kg

And when I said multiple, I didn't mean two per launch. You can afford to stick multiple upper stages, one for each satellite, into the fairing. Set the upper stages off at different times in the base orbit, and so forth, and you can end up using only one launch for 3 or more sats.

It should be noted that you end up with significant cross range signal capability simply from the fact the satellites are orbitting at 23,000 km.

So long as we are not in another Zorian crazy town where space exploration costs nothing and can be built overnight.

Each one is based off a different part of the European shit-storm region. IE the Balkins. The Lord is a Romainian, the General is a old fashion Serbian General, and the Sultan is our Turk.

Now some might say, but Bean, Turkey is not in the Balkins, to which I reply, shut the hell up I have a good analogy going here and I won't let you derail me from it!

Big props go out to Mr. Bean for the Libertopian Three Stooges. The only problem is, which one's Larry, which one's Curly, and which one's Moe?

Looking at that An-22P gunship makes me want to order one, paint a picture of Euphemia on it, and call it the "Euphinator." I suppose just one gunship won't hurt my military budget TOO much...

Moe is Alexander, Larry is Lord Ramsley and Shemp is the Sultan
Curly was gunned down in a drive by shooting last week, at his funeral there was a second drive by followed by a rocket attack that left a dozen wounded...

I am in school so I have a relative reply-lag for the SDN World. So, please pardon me and stuff.

Quick summation of my thoughts:

1.) GODDAMN LIBERTOPIANS!

Goddamn it, Baerne, pull your country out of there before those Goddamn Libertopians destroy your economy. Damn! Syndromia was a money-sucker, and so will Libertopia be.

2.) DarthShady: Cool, your pilots can train in Shroomania with our homoerotic SAF top-gun guys.

3.) Goddamn Cyclones! Hey, since I'm a nurse then it's pretty fair if my country gets a renowned health system. I shall send physicians and nurses to the RT.

4.) Zablania. I propose we use it as a base for that international counterterrorism unit that was discussed. The FUNGAL AXIS shall "own" the land, but we can train our CT forces there and stuff. The urban wastelands shall be excellent for CounterStrike :P

On that note, I shall be posting some stuff later. I'm thinking of starting a FUNGAL FOREIGN LEGION for all of our professional semi-mercenary needs.

And some details on the rest of Shroomania. From the Mushroom Gardens, to the Mushroom Munitions company.
