I'll see if I can churn tonight before. But bleh, I've been sick since I got back from vacation...

What you think is common illness is actually God punishing you for your sinful ways. Expect the locusts any day now.

OK, I'm back. It took me about 4 hours to get everything in order, but in (a transition towards) order it is. Apologies for the huge absence.

Welcome back! Will you be playing the Hiigarans as well, or only the Rhak'Thallians? Don't feel obligated to play both.

I can go ahead and play the Hiigarans, if that's alright with everyone. Too bad about Covenant's shipset -- it was friggin' sweet. I'll need to get his PBW password from him, though. He gave it to me at one point, but it's long gone by now. Moving has a tendency to... evaporate things.

Apologies for the delayed turn churn. New turn is up. Everyone but Brian, IB, and the Davions (obviously) submitted this time, so it looks like we're back in business.

This version of the Balance Mod has a bug that sets militia troops to 300 in all ground combats, as I discovered last turn. Should we update to BM 1.09, or should I just change the one value in the settings.txt and send it to everyone?

I've already upgraded on my machine, so I don't mind, either way. As far as I can tell, there are no major mechanical upgrades -- just numbers, etc., yes?

IB hasn't submitted in 10 turns now, so I kicked him to make room for someone else.

this new turn won't run. I get a runtime error it seems.

PBW's doesn't seem to want to let me download the current turn files. I'll execute tomorrow.

So... how's everyone doing...?

I'm doing good, except I just went back to college today, which means I've gone from my PC to my lappy. I've still got Balance Mod 1.07 and the site has taken down 1.08. If somebody could send me 1.08, I'd be very grateful.

Anyways, welcome back to the game, Kingside. :)

Maybe we should upgrade to 1.09? It fixes the ground combat bug, after all, and it's just as annoying to get everyone to install a clumsy hack as it is to upgrade.

In fact, that's exactly what we should do. Next turn will be run with BM v1.09, everyone should upgrade before submitting their turn. SE V version is still 1.44.

After eight weeks and some disgruntlement, I finally have an account, and am pleased to announce that I'm the dubious fellow who's taken over the Eris Imperium.

Unfortunately, this coincides with the beginning of my next semester of college, so I'm not going to be as active in the Roleplay as I would like to, but I'll contribute as much as I can.

That is, if we're not still going to turn this into a pan-galactic bar room brawl ...

Wow. What a coincidence, as you were describing to me just today how the admins were still reviewing your email. Anyway, I was much looking forward to the upcoming PGB, with much anticipation. But, you know, if you want to go ahead and roleplay (shudder), I guess we could.

Anyway, 1.44+1.09 it is, then. The next revision of the Balance Mod is supposed to be the last, so, woo-hoo!

DorQuad, you submitted with BM 1.08. We're running BM 1.09 now. If you insist you updated, it might not have been a clean update. Try copying the BM 1.09 into a new folder and reapplying the shipset pack.

Hi again.

Well sorry about the extended vacation. I got back, and then it was band camp, and then school started again... :?

Have I been booted? Because I really don't think that I can find time to do turns at the present...

I'll be watching, seeing what happens I guess. You've been one hell of a group to play with. :D

I didn't boot you because I remembered you saying you were taking a break. If you're not coming back, then please withdraw to give someone else a chance to take over.

Re: Tux

That's unusual! I just re-applied the update and I'm running SEV 1.44; let's see what happens this turn.

Re: Kingside

Well, I guess we don't have to roleplay -- we could just have cheezy one-liners amidst all the carnage instead.

We'll run the turn tomorrow (Monday) night instead of tonight so people can have their Labor Day weekends without worrying so much about getting the turn in.

What happened to the turn that was supposed to run last night?

Well, turns out there was an invisible unicorn stampede that took out my wireless net connection lines so I couldn't churn the turn. Either that or I completely forgot. Either way, unlikely to happen again.

Yo, I've been putting off my turn over and over because I know it would take 4 hours to fix all the shit and now probably more, and it keeps getting put off more and more and now I've run into a busy streak in college.

Does anybody want to run the Federation? I have no idea who could possibly do it, but now that RP is gone there shouldn't be any problems with "conflict of interest"... the main problem is the tedium fixing everything. I do not remember if I built the fleet of doom, but if I haven't and Luke hasn't killed me yet then that needs to be done too.

I'll check it tomorrow and see how much damage there.
