ROBs are the most widely used currency in the world, which makes them ideal from a "Currency of Bribery" POV. He can knock himself out.

And what makes you think anyone would not get suspicious when a pile of gold magically appears? Gold is only as useful as it is convertible into hard Japanistani currency.
