You know, I wonder if King L is really so deluded so as to think that the Malip would be all "Hey dudes let's smoke the Peace Pipe, yo!" after he essentially applied a mass-punishment firebombing campaign against them. Yeah, they are, like, totally unjustified in their resistance!

Man, after Shroom's ravings I now have visions of Emperor Heraclius stomping into that conference room in full golden power-armor to dispense some indiscriminate ass-beating.

(Does Heraclius have to choke a bitch?)

Shroom always somehow manages to do that to me :D.

I have a giant metal penis! I have a giant metal penis! That belongs to Coilerburg! Na-na-na-na-na! :P

Serves you right, playing a dick-swordfight with me!

And Shroom....

Story-wise, Shroomania does NOT take kindly to dicking around in its territorial waters since Shepistani anti-merchant actions have sunk the Shroom Viking, a bigass oil tanker, in the past. In fact, we coordinate greatly with our friends in Byzantium with providing overall security in the Central Sea region. We also work with Canissia, in fact.

The lot of us might find it interesting that a Frequesuean military vessel was dicking around in Old Continental waters. ;)

Interesting indeed, and now USSR subs will be patrolling the area. And we like to torpedo unknown submarines.

Can the FTO work out an agreement where if you kill a sub in your territory that is of a member state's, we don't see it as an act of war, but stupidity on the part of said member?

The only one stupid enough to do something like that appears to be Coiler, so you have nothing to worry about.

I'm still not clear on what exactly was he trying to accomplish by doing this.

So with all the other electioneering stuff I'm going to hold off on making my post about both Wilkonia and the Caymans elections (the later actually is up first and will affect the former). Suffice to say, hwoever, that they are both taking place during 2013 even if I don't get around to posting about them until after the 14th.

Actually on THAT note I'm treating the 14th as New Years this month otherwise 2014 will be particularly short.

With regard to Coilerburg's latest submarine adventure, I'm going to ahve to assume that he entered a part of the underwater detection grid that hasn't been completed yet.

Maybe he could've snuck in through well-used Shroomanian shipping routes and somehow disguised himself in all the sea-traffic?

There'll be a lot of inquiries as to how the hell his sub got to my water, since that'd show something's not right with our grid. But the whole grid's a work in progress anywhoo. And the ocean is a big place.

I think work on the grid started in 2 years into the game, and would take 5 years to be working I would think.

But a submarine sneaking following a ship is possible.. maybe perhaps it's time to raise the construction standards for ships...

Huh? What'd raising the construction standards of commercial vessels achieve?

Anyway, let it be said that you do NOT want to be a foreign submariner caught in Shroomanian waters. :P

Well, we could get ships to adopt deeper draught and quieter propellers. It might not reduce the noise altogether, but it would to an extent.

Thing is, Shroomania's a hub for all sorts of places. We can make quieter boats, sure. But it's not like we can force the ships from other places to do so. What're we gonna do? Ban foreign ships from entering Shroomanian/Byzantine ports if they don't have those new features? :P

Eh, it's okay anyway. It's not like anyone can stop *all* subs from entering your waters. At least now we've got Coilerburg code books and Enigma machines! :D

I would say you should go further by returning the submarine in pieces.

That's totally useless since I'd be wasting precious burly man-hours chopping that huge honking metal thing to pieces and NOT using it for scrap metal, but wasting further money to send it back to Coilerburg.

I think Shroomania can drag the ship back to Coilerburg while escorting it with Sovereign Navy vessels in an awesome show of muscle flexing. Then the ships can visit San Dorado and the Vineyards for some awesome booze-binging and whorings!

No. The idea is to tear the damn submarine apart and inspect every part and inspect every important component and run some tests. When we are done, we can then transport the submarine, dismantled, back.

Think about what the Chinese did to the American P-3 then ended up landing on PRC soil.

And the Soviet Mig-25 that defected and flew to Japan.

But the thing is, Coiler's submarine might not really represent anything significantly advanced that'd need reverse-engineering.

Wait, oh fuck. The Warden is a cruise missile submarine. In Shroomanian waters!

No Shroom, the reason for this is not so much whether or not it is advanced, it is to grab the stuff and do extensive tests on the systems to see how good they are and what they are capable of and how best to develop countermeasures. Finally, we will also know roughly how far the FTO is. This is what is termed as an intelligence gold mine. We mine it clean.

And given it is an SSGN, all the more reason to see how good their cruise missiles are?

Hm, indeed. Fuck them. We'll mail their submarine back to them.

I was working under the assumption that the Warden was some shitpiece SSK submarine. But now I found out that it's an SSGN... well, Coiler, you fuck.
