Personally to comment on the steady increase in pricing of all these ships, i went for my heaviest production line ships being $400 because that's four years construction time and i'd like to be able to expect to replace the darned things in the likely run of the game when they inevitably get murderized. and to forestall those bringing up the Juggernaught, its not a production line ship, its a relic and just flat out cannot be replaced.

Excluding Escort Shuttles for the Yachts I have a Navy consisting of 1,234 non-fighter craft. Though well over half the none-fighter navy is going to be system defense and patrol related thus an average fleet size for my navy will be 27 ships with a massive ship being added as a command vessel if needed. Each fleet does have 6,000 fighters with it though.
Also, unlike Steve, my navy will quickly scrap and recycle any out dated vessel and indeed they often scrap smaller vessels as opposed to refueling it. Thus I don't have older craft laying around. This is simply because by time they became a nation they were so used to having a post scarcity society that they never thought to keep older vessels in service. To them wasting fuel on an older ship when they can recycle it for far less energy and create a new class is stupidity.
EDIT: My largest class was started by the Conservative government and was completed while they stayed in power for ten years, they have only just completed trials and been fully fueled and are expected to serve for another 25 years at least assuming they don't take serious combat damage.

The value from scrapping a craft is taken into account for decommissioning. After all, if it's still a viable combat unit that's just being one-upped by new construction, not a completely outdated relic.
Though, heh, I did forget my calculation for ship building times, which realistically would be a limitation for building massive ships. Heh, I might trim down the point values after all....

Hrm. Starting to consider if trial times should be capped somewhere, maybe 2 years.

I have 403 "combat" warships (Light and up, ranging from $35 - $600) so don't complain.
Of course my Ultralights and Yachts add up to 808 all on their own, giving me 1211 overall. So I'm probably a little
too weighted towards patrol ships and system defense.
Of course I do also have a fairly wide variety of hull types, including 5 carrier classes. So I imagine if I were to streamline that I would probably get better numbers.
As to max values, my most expensive class is the $600 CVB, and below that is the $520 Star Battleship. Pricey and thus rather rare, so we're obviously not planning on losing them anytime soon. Which is also why they serve as the highest echelon's command ships, so will be rather well escorted needless to say. After that I go to the $320 CVA, $300 CVA and $280 Battleship, so those would be much easier replaced.
And I'm clearly being rather daring with my focus on carriers, aren't I?

Only 3. I can more heavily utilize all the bodies within a system because unlike you wimpy biologicals my workers don't complain about things like: "There's no oxygen on this planet!" or "The temperature is 400F in the day and -150F at night!" or "There are worms that crawl in our anuses and consume us from the inside out!"
If I could request a nice royal purple or maybe something in a fuchsia or lavender that would great.

Doing a bit more work on things now and the question of which states recognize my nation came up. The RIS is very new in terms of a nation only two-hundred years and some may still see it as a UN splinter state. Everybody could do as I expect and recognize me, but it could give me a adversarial state if somebody chose not to.

On the issue of ESPers, I have a concept to further elaborate on them on a known galaxy-wide scale. I've laid it out to Siege, it's based on some thoughts I've had of a pulpy sci-fi setting.
There would be five kinds of organizations, or "Orders" in some cases, that ESPers can wind up in. The first two types are more explicitly parts of a greater organization: State "Orders" and Religious Orders. Force Lord's already given his Centrality one of the former; his government conscripts all ESP-capable individuals and trains them to be agents of the state. In most cases I imagine State Orders would be involuntary (keep in mind this doesn't count states like the UN which would recruit ESPers but not explicitly create an organization just for them. It's the difference between the Psi Corps and the CIA recruiting telepaths). Religious Orders would be stuff like, say, a Catholic Church order specifically for ESPers (Jedi Warrior-Nuns!).
Then you have three "private" types; these are organizations that are independent of a government or religious institution, but they might have connections to them. The most obvious such case are Monastic Orders. ESPers who live a restrained (though not necessarily celibate/chaste) lifestyle. Sometimes they are explicitly religious, in other cases they tend to focus more on self-control and purifying the mind, focusing on perfection of their abilities. Monastic Orders would tend to specialize in private education, even for non-ESPers, the collection of knowledge, and acting as neutral arbiters, diplomats, or even scientists
Next up are what I call the Chivalric Orders. They are the most like, well, Jedi, or Green Lanterns, or any other group of do-gooders. They hone their craft for use in what they consider good and honorable causes, like breaking up sentient-trafficking rings or protecting minor planets from pirate attacks. Sometimes also religiously devoted.
Finally, there are the Mercenary Orders. As their name implies, they are basically merc companies, er... did I say merc? I obviously meant "private security".
Now, in all cases you might have Orders of various flavors. Co-ed, single gendered, multi-racial, single-race, specific religious domination or general religious creed, etc.
Though, granted, the mercs don't get into the religion bit.
So, anyone like? Dislike? Further ideas upon?

I think this can work, except that we need evil ESPers around too.

Well, this doesn't count ESPers who don't join any order but could wind up as crooks or pirates or such. And the pure Merc groups could be fairly bad, most of which i imagine are fairly amoral. I had in mind one, the Ebon Blade, who are basically assassins and interrogation specialists (and to elaborate upon the mental image I have of them, I was partly inspired by how the Legend of the Seeker TV series and the Mord'Sith).

Due to the nature of my race it is necessary for all of my Aspects to be quite powerful ESPers, and of course the OVERMIND itself.
