Apparently the only solution at this point (the DC jack's already been replaced) would be to get a new motherboard and somehow try to swap it myself, but I don't know how workable that is...

It seems that the jack is indeed replaced, as I was told that the original was damaged; the original's "rod" seemed loose, while the one that was inside today seemed to at least be tighter fit. (The replacement of the jack was done by a branch of this.)If your jack was already replaced I would check to be sure that all the connections are being made properly, since the contacts are probably damaged. I had to use excessive amounts of solder to make a good connection because the board was a bit burnt.
Check the voltage. The wattage figure references maximum power, so it should be fine with a laptop consuming less power.
