Nice. How do you do this? Do you simply draw this in Gimp with the mouse or a tablet or do you first scan a sketch?

I used pencil and paper to sketch the outline and scanned it in to give me the figure, and did the rest with a mouse (and color/brightness/contrast manipulation tools and a filter). A tablet would be nice, but I don't do enough art-type things to warrant the expense.
