Awesome music. Nice concept art. Me want.
And for what could have been: footage of Van Buren:

EDIT: of course, there's already whining that the music doesn't sound like Fallout. Jesus.

What the fuck is wrong with Fallout fans? Sounds like a post-apocalyptic wasteland to me.

These are fans that would make the most rabid 40K, DC/Marval Wanker, SW/ST nerd blush in terms of what is true and what is not.
Nonetheless, the music is good...it's forebooding with good rhythm.
And one month until a teaser, awesome.

I like, as has been said it feel right, dark and heavy. The picture is perfect, I could imagine the other Fallout games in that picture, I could see Fallout and 2, very easily in that piccy. So I have every confidence they will be able to catch the spirit of those games.
Lastly oh 33 days till a teaser, thats great news.

It occurs to me that one thing Bethesda's engine (ie. the one they used for Oblivion) could add to Fallout that we hadn't seen is ... mix and match armor. It always struck me as silly in the previous Fallouts that all the armor was together as a complete set in a post-nuclear wasteland.
Definitely something they should bring back pauldrons for ...

I feel, slightly optimistic. The feel in the music and the piece of Concept Art is very.... dark. Which is awesome and Fallout-ish. Cant wait for the Teaser.

...okay, I'm getting tired of Bethesda's tee hee, we'll be mysterious bullshit regarding Fallout 3. Yes. We know you're making it. Yes, we know you think you're hot shit. Yes, Oblivion was staggeringly mediocre. Giggling about secrets doesn't induce people to trust your competence: Put up, or shut up.

Indeed I like, and yes about the only fandom crazier than these people are the Transformers fans.

I don't really mind, because it pisses off the fanboys.
Take a look at their forums. I bet B's laughing their ass off on office breaks, I am. "Moral outrage" that they might make a non-isometric ... hahahaha.

It doesn't matter what they show or don't show, it'll piss off those NMA wankers.

This is quite untrue. In fact, it was someone from NMA who pointed out the similarity between Bethsoft's new music and

Updated- East Coast, Washington DC!!!
and, even bigger news:
Bethesda Softworks Announces Award-Winning Actor
Liam Neeson to Play Lead Role in Fallout 3
May 8, 2007 (Rockville, MD) – Bethesda Softworks® is pleased to announce that highly acclaimed international actor Liam Neeson will lead the cast providing voice work in Fallout 3. Neeson will play the role of the player’s father and will appear prominently throughout the game. Fallout 3 is currently under development at Bethesda Game Studios, creators of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion®, which won numerous Game of the Year and RPG of the Year awards in 2006.
“This role was written with Liam in mind, and provides the dramatic tone for the entire game,” said Todd Howard, Executive Producer of Fallout 3. “Liam is absolutely amazing to work with.”
Neeson is known for starring roles in blockbuster films such as Schindler’s List, Star Wars: Episode I, The Chronicles of Narnia, and Batman Begins. Throughout his illustrious career, Neeson has been the recipient of numerous honors for his work in film and theater, including Academy Award, Golden Globe and Tony Award nominations.
“It’s been a pleasure bringing the father to life and working with the wonderfully talented people at Bethesda on Fallout 3,” said Neeson. “I hope the fans of the franchise and the game will be excited by the results.”

The music does nothing for me, but the concept art is indeed quite snazzy. Having the player's father be prominent throughout the game sounds a bit odd for a Fallout game but whatever. I'm not expecting much (Morrowind and Oblivion did nothing for me) but I'll withhold judgement till I've got a bit more information.

Another awesome piece of concept art. Check it out. Aircraft Carrier that never made it out to sea.

With Neeson being "voice talent" I hope that we, rather than having Vault Dwellers, have an "expedition" from the UK to investigate the US... Could be hilarious.

Museum piece that was unlucky enough to get blasted by the bombs, according to a comparison made at NMA.

Eh, I'd expect it to be similiar to Emperor Picard in Oblivion - A cameo at the start (any maybe end) of the game before the player sets out on his quest. (Or something similiar that gets rid of him, maybe communication through a P.I.P-Boy or somesuch since the game is supposed to be Van-Buren style in its lack of a "Save the X" quest).
The concept art looks awesome, its interesting that we're seeing so many cities (Fallout for me has always been the great wastes first, then the weird post apocalypse societies then the rebuildings on what was the past [Boneyard, etc']).

Very interesting. It seems like we'll be seeing more ruined urban setting than desert wasteland in this new installment. And I had come up with a whole new New York State setting too for my Fallout MUSH. Time to revise canon...

The first piece of concept art is of the Wastes, so I wouldn't say Fallout 3 won't have that.
I assume that we'll start off in a remote location (a Vault?) and end up in Washington DC at a later stage.
One thing I hope Bethesda knows to do is not to attempt to make the play area like Oblivion. They'd be better off adopting Fallout 1 and 2's system and using the engine to make outrageously detailed, small areas that you use a world map to travel between (with random encounters of course).

I hope they explore America's East Coast with both DC and NYC present. That'd be unmistakably cool. Especially as I've travelled around America's East Coast.

So are we going to see these cool looking burned out cities on the Oblivion engine?

That much seems certain. Though I really hope it's with the classic Fallout viewpoint and not boring first-person.
