The past several days, I've had extreme difficulties in accessing MSN and Yahoo. I've completely disabled my MVPS HOSTS file, NoScript, and Peerguardian to no avail. I now have hard evidence of malicious filtering by my ISP, Ygnition.
The command window, I believe, speaks for itself.

Update: They turned the filter off for now. I think they're attempting to be slick.
I've also had difficulty accessing NYTimes.com as well earlier today. I'll keep all my own filters off in an attempt to catalogue what sites keep getting blocked. I've ruled out the possibility of a bad node due to the consistent and highly non-random nature of the affected sites, but when I talk to the ISP tomorrow, I may approach it as that. If they report all nodes functional, I'll kindly request all filtering of my connection be removed or I will get Time Warner Cable.
I have Time Warner. I don't know what it's like in your area, but in mine it's fairly reliable and zero bullshit. Up speed isn't as high as some ISPs, but I'm okay with that.

I had Time Warner in San Antonio, and my experience with them is identical to yours.

My ISP is denying me access to sites that they have no business filtering, that's fucking what! I'm going to raise forty-nine kinds of hell with them tomorrow!
Request Timeouts do not indicate any sort of issue with the ISP. It could easily be some sort of central router fuckup, or a problem on your end of the table.

It's getting stuck at the second hop, isn't that likely to be your router?

Or perhaps the routers are simply dropping echo request.
Everything must be an evil corporatist conspiracy, Ein. Ask yourself this: Why out of eleventy billion people on their ISP, are they singling out you, Ein?

What the hell makes you think I'm being singled out? There's no reason to believe I'm a special case; it's likely doing that to all its customers.
And don't fucking troll my thread you authoritarian fuck!
I thought Shep would be the least likely to accept authority.
Your problem seems like a local issue, or perhaps something fucking over DNS with respect to those sites for whatever reason. I highly doubt the ISP is arbitrarily disabling access to sites that aren't in the least bit controversial.

I'm starting to moderate my position away from my initial assessment anyway.

Your fucking thread title

Whine whine. I suggest you put away your weed for a couple days so you're not such a paranoid fuck. OH MY GOD, THEYRE OUT TO GET ME!
Woo wooo wooo. I guess I better go keep a watch out for the EVIL UN BLACK HELICOPTER SWARM!

Fucking irrelevant. You're just trolling for its own sake, asshole.

I'll have you know I haven't smoked in weeks, fucktard. Face it, I'm just an easy target for your right-wing pro-corporate asshole-attacks because I make interesting noises. Go take a flying fuck at Phobos.

Your problem, not mine, schizo. At least I didn't Dick Cheney a guy in the face on purpose and have my toys taken away.

Step away from the keyboard, settle down and think, Ein. You implied that they were purposely targetting you, which appears to not be the case.

This is just me, but both of you seem to be breaking the 'No Vendettas' policy.

Consider that implication rescinded. The only bullying I see now is coming squarely from Shep.

Ya rly? I won't even try to rationalize my behavior in this thread; I'll let it stand for itself alongside Shep's initiation of bad behavior.
As for the OP, it seems the shit's calmed down. I'll call them tomorrow when I wake up.
And it's resolved. It appears to be a technical glitch with Time-Warner's servers. Ygnition is very much aware of the idea of network-neutrality, and they've told me they uphold them as a matter of principle.
The workaround was to designate a specific DNS server address under network connection properties instead of letting it find one automatically and chance across TW's borked ones. W00t.
