Hilarious blog I stumbled upon
At my own blog, I usually touch on some Atheist subjects. I like discussing it and showcasing whatever related stories get my attention. It's the viewpoint of the rational and objective thinker, afterall.
Anyhow, I came across the following blog/site which has simply left me in stitches from laughter. What a hoot!

They're not hostile and they likely don't Goatse hotlinkers [sfw, it's textfiles.com]. No need for link suppression.
You want comedy?

This guy's an "atheologist" -- the study of atheism.
Epic fail. Atheists don't "admit they really believe in God." You'd think he'd have figured out that much in his "study."

His reply:Teleros wrote:Well I certainly had a good laugh reading the above article, but it felt more like a story than a serious look at the origins of atheism.
Just one thing other thing for those readers out there wondering about sources: Michael Denton may not be a creationist, but he’s strongly involved with the pro-Intelligent Design organisation, the Discovery Institute:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Denton
Anyway, knowing me I’ll have forgotten about this by tomorrow, so before I do I’d like to offer an invitation the author to hop on over to www.stardestroyer.net - despite the name, the forums there have a dedicated section for science, logic and morality. And whilst I cannot promise a friendly audience, I can promise that any arguments you put forth will be attacked with intellectual rigour. Plus, I find a forum much easier to use than the comment system of a blog .
Well I'm pleased to see he's able to show off his ego at least. Can't say much for his debating skills though:atheiststooges wrote:I have debated on all of the major atheist forums including Infidels.org and talk.origins.
I’d be glad to have the newbies from over there pay me a visit anytime for a chat.
David Lain Greig the mod over at talk.origins had a melt down in the middle of a debate that shocked even his closest devotees.
I have debated on Podcasts, and refuted Richard Dawkins ideology one claim after the other on a youtube video dubbed over a discussion by Dawkins on a video.(I only wish I had the chance in real life as do other educated theists but Dawkins is out of his yard being only a biologist.
In short, I’m in the big leagues now and, am ready to strut my stuff at any University that will have me as a guest speaker.
This may be the minor leagues dealing with a group of quote mining parrots in here but it nevertheless does keep my debating skills finely honed.
In other words you’re being used for my pleasure and academic recall, and nothing more.
And just barely at that.
The day that you can prove that there isn’t a single shred of empirical evidence, logic, reason or rational arguement for the non-existence of God,the day any anti-theistic God hater such as yourself can provide one, I’d be *delighted* to hear it.

Were it just the blog articles I might agree, but it's the comments section that makes me wonder.

Yeah, I'm actually leaning toward parody myself, now that I've taken it seriously and commented. But what kind of person spends that sort of time on satire and parody?General Zod wrote:Maybe it's just me but this reads like a parody. The Islamofascist, and Satan is on Our Side banner sound almost as if someone from SDN wrote the thing.
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.

That blog isn't entertaining. It's just irritating. Seriously, if you're looking for a way to raise your blood-pressure, try that blog. He's such a self-righteous, worthless, misrepresenting asshole. I get the impression that he seriously holds those moronic views, but doesn't take the concept of honesty seriously enough to closely examine them or back them up. This dude would be banned in a second over here, and be dogpiled by all of the senior members before most of us got a word in edge-wise. In other words, it wouldn't really be awesome to have him over here. He's just like any other fundie, only more of a prick. It's really more fun to go deep into enemy territory with minimal back up, like most liberals on Protest Warrior. The one-sidedness of debates with fundies here is a tad boring.
