Getting a new computer

Post by SAMAS »

I'm planning on buying a new computer when my Refund check clears, so I can finally get some PC games made in the past three or four years.

Any suggestions in what to get/do?

Building your own, or buying a prebuilt? Also, what's the budget?

First things first, for gaming regardless of budget: You want at least 1GB of RAM, 2 is much better. And even if its the cheapest one get a core2duo. I would also recommend at least getting a 7series, though an 8series is better in the long run with m$ holding a gun to gamers heads over dx10. I tend to avoid ATI because they are more expensive for less grunt, but the r600 looks alright (x2100 or something now).
