Is this a bodgy codec?

Post by Vympel »

So I downloaded the latest episode of the unknown ... medical ... practitioner, and the damn thing won't play unless I download their own codec- namely

That.

Can anyone vouch for that codec? I'm not downloading some bodgy shit.

3wplayer is malware disguised as a media player; avoid it like the plague. Any media file that requires a specific, non-brand-name player to open is almost 99% certain to be malware.

Try to find another source for the file you are trying to view.

I'm assuming this is an aXXo-rip file, so lemme know if otherwise.

Yeah, you shouldn't download that 3wplayer crap, 3wplayer is known to be loaded with spyware. It will disable your anti-spyware and anti-virus programs. Bodgy shit indeed.

If you got that file from anywhere but TorrentSpy, it's probably a fake.

If it's legit, aXXo doesn't use anything super weird. Get the G-spot codec information appliance to see what you'll need. You SHOULD be able to play nearly everything with CCCP installed.[/url]

It's not an aXXo as far as I can tell- I got it from mininova, not torrentspy. Dammit, what a fuckign waste of 350 valuable megs.
