Stranglehold demo impressions.

Just some quick bits:

1) Its fun to be sliding, diving, rolling, running, jumping and shooting like a mad man.

2) But possibly not for a full game.

3) Though it is a lot of fun. And Max Payne has shown us that this is a legitimate art form if done properly.

4) Standoff mode is a little weak.

5) Precision shots are hilarious - shoot a guy in the nuts for a nasty animation.

6) Mmmm. SPAS-tastic.

7) Multiplayer looks, well, viable...

It's Max Payne.

No really, it is Max Payne, with a rudimentary cover system and some bullet-fu special moves.

Also, whilst the real thing may ramp up the demo was hilariously easy, with only the big marketplace shootout being even nearly a challenge, and then only on Hard Boiled.

I found it to be very fun. There's nothing like diving onto a servring cart and shooting people while the cart slides across a court-yard.

just pre-ordered it on the Strength of the demo. Bloody difficult on hard mode though.
