A lot of game get some flak for 1.5 sequels that are rushed out quickly(Sports games get these a lot, although I think Tomb Raider would fit into this line.), with no significant graphical or gameplay changes. Some new features may be added but nothing substantial.

But what about games that had a good system going, that you would of like a quick sequel thats just a new set of levels to a game that didn't need much improvement.

What got me thinking about this was Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced. Great game, decent replayiblity, but hasn't had a new installment in several years, and a new one isn't due out til most liking 2008 here(10/25/07 release day in Japan). But I would of easily shelled out dough for FFTA 2 and 3 with just a new story, some new items and a couple new classes/races added on.

Deus Ex. maybe more of a 0.5 game than a 1.5 as it would be set Before Deus Ex with you as Paul Denton, covering the events leading up to his defection.

Evil Genius. Great little game, marred only by a lack of content. It definitely could have benefited from a dinky little sequel that had a sandbox mode and some scenarios to play, as well as new islands, henchmen, etc.

The original MechCommander. The actual sequel wasn't too impressive, and it did go the distance with new graphics, story/campaign, etc. A sequel using the original engine probably would have been superior, as there was again a lack of content once you ran through the campaign and the expansion once or twice. It just needed some more RPG elements with the pilots and some new environments to throw them into.

Ditto for Fallout Tactics. Damn shame the Fallout-freaks killed it.

Mechcommander actually did have a 1.5, in a way: Mechcommander Gold.

That was just the original game packaged with the expansion; like most gold editions.

The title should be "Games that could HAVE used a hasty half-sequel", not "Games that could of used a hasty half-sequel." Doesn't anyone speak English any more? That's not a typo; that's just sheer illiteracy, because you can tell that somebody typed that by trying to phonetically replicate spoken language.

It's true that it is not a typo, but it might not be illiteracy either. It can and does happen that while typing, probably because it is so quick, one writes something phonetically even when very much aware that it is wrong. This may be indeed an indication of not knowing the correct way to write, or it may simply show lack of proof-reading.

Spider-man 2. Great game, great system (though the fighting was a bit simplistic), but it suffered from having a story mode that was just too damn short.

Bullshit. If you know what you're going to intend to say, you know what you're going to type, and trying to change typing in the middle of the process to use some completely different if phonetically similar thing actually requires more active concentration on several things at once and slows you down far more than typing the correct stuff would (especially since the keys are placed in different parts of the keyboard). Hence, anybody who types or writes "could of" instead of "could have" is a fucking illiterate moron who doesn't know proper English.

More on topic, I would have liked to see extra mission packs, or whatnot for the original XCOM games. True, only the original was released, and only for the PS1 console, but still - I would have liked seeing more.

Spider-man 2 was great. It's Spider-Man 3, IMO, that needs it. A great game concept, that was rushed out the door to tie in with the movie release.

I would like to have seen the levels from Call of Duty 3 made as an expansion for Call of Duty 2.

I would love to have seen an expansion for GRAW2 fleshing out the mop up operation.

Company of Heroes. I'M WAITING, DAMMIT!

Shadow Hearts: Covenant. From the New World changed tone too much, IMO.

I could name a huge list of games that needed more than that, but:

Dungeon Keeper: I know it wasn't massively popular, but it was a great game and could have seen a sequel with a few extra features and maps with a possibly cleaned-up or cutout first person mode and some better graphics.

Starcraft and Broodwars: Same thing. A few more units and some new campaign maps.

Gears of War: The system is there and it looks great. Continue the story. Maybe even something of a prequel involving Marcus and Dominique trying (and failing) to rescue Marcus's father.

Dungeon Keeper had a full-fledge 3D sequel called Dungeon Keeper 2. Unless you are talking about the second one, in which case be more specific!

Also, Blizzard released a couple of semi-official campaign maps, if that counts. They are vaguely connected to the plot. But yeah, I wouldn't have minded a second expansion. Mostly because I wanted more tile sets, I mean there wasn't even an acid world. Gawd.

I would have loved a 1.5/Expansion to Psychonauts because Tim Schafer can never fail. Ever.

Aren't most expansion packs the same thing as "hasty half sequels?"

Uh... Opposing Fronts is due out very soon. And thanks to the unusual business model they're adopting for the franchise, it practically is a 1.5 sequel.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.

I LOVED the cel-shaded style, I would have paid for another one with a similar style, with a new world, more items and dungeons.

I miss the British and the Russians in multi player. That drum fed SMG was great and I missed the Enfield. And the maps in Live needed some tune ups. Haven't played in months but I remember falling through the levels and not being able to respawn. I think that it had something to do with loading the wrong map while matchmaking intended another map. That and it would only go through certain maps while others went untouched for rounds.

You're fucking kidding me. Well, I missed that one by about.... 8 years.

Oh, I know. But after playing through all the levels with co-op about 15 times a piece on every difficulty, I would kill for something more.

Kind of like the shovel ware of "Guitar Hero: Rock the 80's" while we wait for number 3. Granted, there's a lot more to lose with a shoddily done GoW game than Guitar Hero.

Its more of a grammatical screw up due to the slang I'm use to(could've which is phonetically close to could of, just like I will say ya'll now and then). Anyways I'd rather ignore it and stay on topic, my brain has always had a hard time processing language. so I've never been good with spelling or grammer.

I am happy to find someone else that loves the Cel-Link(I still give him a one up on TP link as the more aggressive Link due to his Face-stabbing), but last I heard Phantom Hourglass was going to be in the Cel style. Ofcourse I haven't followed that Zelda as closely as I should of.

Another game I would mind another hasty add-on too is Diablo 2. LoD was nice, and they have done some Patch+1s(1.10 being the largest of those) But I still play the hell out of that game now and then, and would love to get a Act and a Half(Expand Act Four to a full act) and a new class added on.

Also Resident Evil could of used four or five games with RE4s new engine and control style in the past couple years. Also I'd like to see the Mercenaries Mini-Game spun off into a full game with levels and characters from the whole series. Allowing you to play against enemies and in settings from RE0-CV in the RE4 controls with out having to remake all the games(Which seems to be what they are doing in Umbrella Chronicles, only for the Rail-shooter style).
