ENT: Rogue Planet discovery

Post by Ted C »

Despite the irritating anti-hunting theme that made me turn it off before the second commercial break, the Enterprise episode "Rogue Planet" did demonstrate that Starfleet clearly has the ability to make personal visual enhancement devices, and that at one time they even had sense enough to use them. It also showed that those devices were fairly easy to spoof, since the alien hunters didn't show up on them.

What was sad was that anyone who used anything like that (the aliens, too) had a big glowing thing in front of their face. If I knew people with big glowy things on their head were coming for me, I'd rather not have one... just shoot when you see the lights in front of their eyes.

I should have thought of that. Not wanting to wear a target over your eye-socket might explain the reluctance of Federation personnel to use such things in a combat situation.
