Newbie, read the fucking site before asking questions. And read the announcements page as well, which would tell you to do that.

Re: My question.........
Read Wong's page, it's hyperdrive, since transwarp can be detected with sensors going at 200,000c and hyperdrive is considerably faster. Hyperdrive to transwarp is like an F-22 to a pinto.Ben Ingram wrote:What's faster:Transwarp or Hyperdrive?

The gift of Superman is the same in his universe as ours. It's not about his powers, his costume, his persona, it's about the using the gifts he has to help people. We all have gifts too, maybe we can't leap tall buildings in a single bound, but maybe we're good with math, maybe we're charming. We can use our gifts -whatever they are- to help people. We just need to make that choice. And Superman shows us that it's possible.
If transwarp with a conduit can be detected with sensors going at 200,000c, then it's definitely hyperdrive, which is several million times the speed of c.

Complete speculation
I wonder if the ST Transwarp drive is the very earliest stage of Hyperdrive development. Basically, the Transwarp drive in the form envisaged in STIII - SfS and later used by the Voyager under the misleading name 'Slipstream Drive' is the first rung on the ladder, a FTL drive without that high-energy messing around with local gravitational constants.
The Transwarp Conduit/Slipstream Drive seems to be something completely different. It appears most like a true wormhole drive (like the one on the Event Horizon), that forms an extra-dimensional conduit between the origin and destination points.
My point? The terminology used in Star Trek for faster FTL drives is somewhat confusing and occasionally contradictory. I recommend that hyperdrive-like systems are known as 'Transwarp' and conduit riders are known as 'Slipstream'. Only a suggestion, guys.

BenRG - Liking Star Trek doesn't mean you have to think the Federation stands a chance!

If I do remember correctly, even Kennedy has a mediocre article on this.
