Help needed with speakers

Post by Gandalf »

For my 22nd, I was lucky enough to get a stereo. One of the neat features was an "audio port" function, whereby a 3.5mm cable can be run between it and something else to be used as a music source.

However, whenever I play certain tracks, the right speaker starts crackling. It mostly occurs during songs by Nightwish and Blind Guardian, during the "power" sections.

I've played the same songs through the USB port, and the songs work fine.

Does anyone know what could be afoot?

Perhaps the input volume is too much for the speaker? Does the same thing happen if you turn down the volume in both the source and the speakers themselves?

As a rule, never have any audio at more than 80% of maximum volume. 50 if you value your hearing.
