Didn't catch this posted anywhere, if it was, sorry.

As a little while ago it was noted that Firefly got sent up to ISS earlier this year, looks like a certain sci-fi prop got sent up on the shuttle.

An interesting side note to the STS-120 has to do with the lightsaber that was used by actor Mark Hamill in the 1983 Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi film. The original lightsaber is being flown to the space station and then returned to Earth, in honor of the 30th anniversary of director George Lucas' Star Wars franchise.
Lucas was at the launch, and heard a crack on NASA TV from an ISS crewmember that they were "a little worried" about the Shuttle Commander totting a lightsaber. :D

Careful, the captain might be seduced to the dark side and arm the station, and then use his now fully armed and operational battle station.

That, then affix rocket boosters on them and sling them at Merica.

Strange, seeing as to how your faith in your friends is your weakness.

I guess we can be thankful it is non-operational, before they could turn it off again: lightsaber plus hull of ship would equal ... depressurisation  .

Does this mean that Star Wars wins?

Yes. The Shuttle is actually being deployed on a trench run mission against Mimis.

A small, six man shuttle, should be able to penetrate the outer defense!
