Refrigeration cycle.

Post by Soontir C'boath »

I want to see if I understood it correctly.

The refrigerant such as ammonium takes the heat from the hotter environment of the inside of a fridge, goes through a compressor to raise its pressure and temperature further above room temperature, sent through the pipes outside of the fridge to release the heat changing its phase to liquid, and goes through an expansion valve to decrease pressure so that it would turn to gas again to repeat the process.

Did I miss anything?
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

Usually you see the terms "evaporator" in where you have "The refrigerant such as ammonium takes the heat from the hotter environment of the inside of a fridge" and "condenser" in where you have "sent through the pipes outside of the fridge to release the heat changing its phase to liquid." But your description is more-or-less correct.

The only thing I would add (depending on what you need this for) is that the condenser involves heat exchange with an air or liquid, but it sounds like you're talking about a kitchen refrigerator specifically.

What's this for, just out of curiosity?

This is for a paper I have to write for Thermodynamics. I have to write about a specific part of it and I chose the refrigerator as what I would use to relate the Second Law.

You know, reading other professor's explanations from other schools, my professor is garbage. But I knew that already since she's always mixing things up and won't admit it.
