Ideas for science fiction

Post by ray245 »

I was wondering, instead of having a run of the mill conflict related science fiction, interacting with aliens or robots, is it better to create a science fiction and the plot centers on our efforts to proceed towards the nearest star?

Focus on the people who make it possible, such as the person who invented FTL engines, the leaders who challenge everyone to go beyond our solar system, all the grunt work and engineers needed to build new equipments necessary, and the pilots who made it there.
Humans are such funny creatures. We are selfish about selflessness, yet we can love something so much that we can hate something.

Hey, what is stopping us from having a different type of show? I mean, after all, the show can be serious and dark at times just like nBSG, yet at the same time, make a simple goal feels epic.

Try to find a copy of the BBC's Voyage to the Planets. It's a faux-documentary/re-enactment of the first circumnavigation of the solar system, using realistic (or at least theoretically proposed) technologies.

Ray he's saying that this isn't a new idea at all but one that has an entire decade of science fiction books to choose from. If you're asking for visual media as theres few choices but I hear that Voyage to the Planets is good.

Well, I should have make my OP more clear, which is hoping for a visual media, that can give us this kind of story.

A TV series should be perfect I think.
