I'm creating my own background for an Imperial Guard regiment, and it struck me that almost all stories in 40k of Chaos are either Khornite or "Undivided" with bezerekers and such as the infantry. Occassionally Nurgle cultists show up as well. This strikes me as lazy writing, because Khorne is the easiest god to characterize and Nurgle cultists are disgusting, which is as far as characterizations seems to go.
Where are some good contemporary (No Horus era stories) 40k stories that involve the other two gods to draw inspiration from? Preferably just cults, and not Chaos Space Marines if possible.

"It was cut because an Army Ordnance panel determined that a weapon that kills an enemy soldier 10 times before he hits the ground was a waste of resources, so they scaled it back to only kill him 3 times."-Anon, on the cancellation of the Army's multi-kill vehicle.

Any Ciaphas Cain book that deals with Chaos (The Traitor's Hand and Cain's Last Stand). One involves Slaanesh heavily (with some Khornate cultists, but has a whole lot of jokes directed at them) and the other involves a non-aligned Chaos force.

You're complaining that the story isn't the kind you like. That's like me bitching about the lack of ninjas in Robin Hood. ~CaptainChewbacca

You could do worse than reading Dark Apostle and Dark Disciple (not as good, but the middle of a trilogy) if you're after stories about the followers of chaos undivided. And how fucking evil the Word Bearers are.
