Hong Kong 2009

Post by The Grim Squeaker »

An intro to my trip to Japan - the first two days in Hong Kong.

Car in front of the hotel, the magnificient ________, as you can see, the insane humidity caused the camera's lens to fog up badly (but I like the result).

It's crazy how much Hong Kong has grown upwards since I was last there in '93.
By the pricking of my thumb,
Something wicked this way comes.
Open, locks,
Whoever knocks.

It's called the Lippo centre, originally called the Bond Centre, built in the late 80's, architect was Paul Rudolph.

I like that picture of 2 International Finance Centre at night, reminds me of the time I was in HK.
This space is open to any inquiries at the moment...

The building is supposed to invoke an imagery of koalas hugging a tree...

I was thinking more "so Omega Supreme isn't even bothering to try to make a decent disguise these days"

For the last time ye twats: I am Perfectly aware that Hong Kong, the former British Colony is now a part of CHINA, not Japan!

I know this, did not say that it was part of Japan, and I greatly Enjoyed James Clavell's books.
So bugger off :P

'Secondly, I don't see why "income inequality" is a bad thing. Poverty is not an injustice. There is no such thing as causes for poverty, only causes for wealth. Poverty is not a wrong, but taking money from those who have it to equalize incomes is basically theft, which is wrong.' - Typical Randroid

The hotel had a collection of huge green Rolls Royces and white gloved chauffeurs. Purty....

It looks like they have a smaller Sears (Willis?) tower nestled in there!
