[Mac 10.4.11] Social Net sites redirect, spyware help?

Post by LMSx »

Periodically I've visited Facebook and gotten a redirect to myspace.com, or occasionally someone's specific myspace. I was concerned, but it went away after awhile. Now I'm trying to visit twitter.com and getting redirected to some Blogger site.

This is disconcerting.

So I've been trying to find a freeware Mac spyware program to check my computer for viruses and the such, but it's been a little difficult. CNET's recommended program, MacScan, turned up 1 "tracking cookie"....from CNN.com. Most of those links so helpfully posted at the top of this forum appear to be for Windows. Any advice on how to proceed here? Is this just random hacker tomfoolery messing with those sites, or should I lock down my computer and double check my credit card?
