Janeway...
I know how much you all hate Captain Janeway.
I know some of you hate me for respecting her more so than I respect half my family.
But, what if....
Janeway was born in the Empire, and found her way to the Imperial Ranks. Living the ruthless Imperial Life, what kind of person would she be?
I'm guessing a bad ass. You dont mess witht he Coffee Goddess as it is, IMHO.
Im guessing something like in "Living Witness"

not this one. Janeway doesn't even make it into Imperial service because of her gender, besides. They can't let female officer sonto starships because of emotional and physical prblems related to travel. Plus, Imperial shipping doesn't cover eyeliner and tampons.

If we pretend for a moment Janeway is competent enough to advance in the Imperial Navy, then you definitely get "Living Witness Evil Janeway". That was probably Mulgrew's best perfomance of the entire series--you got this creepy feeling that that version of Janeway was just as plausible as the one who actually existed.

He's the Emperor, able to have his pick of any woman he wants. Why the fuck would he settle for Janeway? IIRC the emperor did have concubines already. Very good looking ones...

wait, in this scenario we're assuming that Janeway is born as the child of a family who lives in the Empire.
Then this whole comparison is moot since Janeway then isn't Janeway anymore. She may look like her since they're genetically the same, but it's the conditions under which you grow up that make you what you are.

Janeway is a double bagger. She is stupid and incompetant. In Voyager she has walked head long into needlessly dangerous situations only to be saved by a character shield that defies belief. I can't see an Imperial educated Janeway becoming much more than the cook in the galley of some shity ship in the middle of no-where.

She'd become a scientist and she might (if the bag on here head doesn't fall off) get to work on a good project.

That's the Janeway who grew up in the Federation. If she grew up in the Empire, she might think in a more Imperial-istic (pardon the pun) way.Darth Pounder wrote:Janeway is a double bagger. However, she'd probably not gain a high rank in the military - there are VERY, VERY few female officers in the Empire, and those with particularly high ranks is considered anomalies. (eg. Daala, Isard)

Virtually all female officers above Lt. seem to just 'know' the right people. All the other female officers I can think of (nameless imperial officers) are on support ships, bulk cargo ships, ect.
