XP apps under Windows 7 seamless XP mode

Here's the deal. I have a secure VPN app for work that only works under XP, and I'm running Win7. I've already installed the virtual machine and the VPN app, and that all works. I can also run the app in seamless mode, however I no longer have access to the tunnel that it creates. I see a few options, other than running the full XP environment: start the XP RDP in seamless mode, or give Win7 access to the tunnel. Unfortunately I don't know how to do either of those. Any ideas?

Just as an update, I talked to our admins, and they were saying that getting win7 to see the tunnel is both undesireable and next to impossible anyway. So that leaves starting the XP RDP client in seamless mode, and I haven't been able to find a way to do that in my searches.
