Nice idea with the suitcase suit.

Mind you i still find the idea of outfitting the War Machine suit with Machineguns (let alone bullet guzzling miniguns) to be rather silly.

Or maybe it's a suit designed on the down low without Tony "In a cave! With a box of scraps!" Stark, and they didn't know how to either make the repulsors work as weapons, or be able to power them and power the rest of the suit at the same time.

But, it fits into the comic design, so I'm sure they were drawing from that.

Mang, I can't wait for this!

Do the machine guns spew out casings? Maybe if they don't, then they might be miniaturized railguns that instead of shooting rounds with chemical explosive casings, instead accelerate tiny BB-like bullets at jawesome speeds!

I definitely saw casings at some point, or at least something that looked similar.

The teaser trailer shows Sam Rockwell's arms dealer showing off some sidearms, to which Rodes says "All of them". Cue War Machine spewing firepower.

The suit has either Glock 18s (or was it Beretta 93Rs?) and an M134.

Wait, what? What teaser trailer? Why the hell does the suit have GLOCKS (or Berettas)? Pistols? What?

My bad, it was a clip from Comic Con my brother sent me. I'll try and find it again.

EDIT: Not GLOCK or Beretta.

So he has a machine-pistol in one hand? I mean, I can (barely) get why you'd bring around an FN F2000, but against Ironmang suits? Ironmang suits that withstand shit like tank rounds and F-22 cannons? What the hell is a machine-pistol or even an FN F2000's 5.56mm bullets gonna do in a robot fistfight? That's stupid. How the fuck can you damage Ironmangers with small arms fire? Jesus Christ. What? That doesn't make sense. I can get lugging around miniguns, sure, that's some heavy phallic artillery like how old painless will make this bunch of slack jawed Ironmangs into a bunch of sexual tyrannosauruses. But small-arms? Fucking small-arms? What? Eh? Huh? Whuh?

Anti-personnel warfare?

Anyway, the trailer is awesome. I love this movie series.

And we have Samuel L. Badass Motherfucker Jackson showing up as Nick Fury of course.

Damn it if Scarlett doesn't look hot. "I want one."

As for War Machine's weapons, whatever he has in his suit, he was at least using the minigun and other automatic weapons to tear apart those robots, not pistols or whatever is supposed to be crammed in there. No, these don't make sense when he could just have repulsors instead. But they look fucking awesome.

Can someone tell me why a Human in a suite of armor is more powerful then a Robot in similar armor but full of enhanced motors?

Cost cutting on the robots. You would be shocked by the inferior grades of metallurgy that go into drone systems, I tell you. They're probably not even properly armored.

Tony used metal from what may be proprietary Stark technology. Hammer may not have access to equivalent material, and so the suits aren't as well armored.

Also Tony Stark is the hero, you know. Confers a universal +2 bonus to strength checks.

Inverse Ninja Law applies.

And it's not like he's going to give up the repulsor tech or metallurgy formula to anyone, even War Machine (as is evident by lack of repulsors, at least for weaponry). It's pretty bitchin' that anyone could mimic the ARC fusion tokamak Stark made, but that's obviously needed for these suits given their power requirements.

This one didn't do it for me as much as the first one did.

Hey, the Punisher only uses guns, better only discuss him in Off Topic, since that isn't sci fi or fantasy.

If someone put Punisher in Off-Topic I wouldn't bother moving it, no. The Science-fiction forum is for technology-based fiction, Fantasy is for discussion of topics which more revolve around magic, superpowers, etc. Fantasy isn't just code for comic book forum. With the caveat that the Iron Man comics would likely find themselves in fantasy, because its much harder to do objective analysis of a comic than it is a movie, which was the reason Mike split the forums back in the day to begin with.

I've been reading through Tales of Suspense for the past few weeks and I heartily approve of a "collapsible costume in Tony's ever present attache case!"

Which he can don in seconds!

The flaw in the Mk. III was always going to be the lengthy application time and need for a complex rig to do it. You couldn't just whisk off in the suit like Clark Kent tearing his shirt. So the suitcase suit is a nice add-in.

The suitcase suit if from at least as far back as the 70's and possible the late sixties. It is different in the comics of course as the suit's rigidity was do to magnetizing the finely meshed little plates that made up the armor. So Stark actually folded up the suit like pajamas and put it in any old briefcase.
