Looks great. Coincidentally I just reinstalled R:TW. When does this come out?
Re: Trailer for Roma Surrectum II
That *does* look very good., I may have to dust off my copy of R:TW.

I do not really like how the Phalanx immediately dissolves into sword fights.

Then, it seems that the only way to survive is to use the means of the enemy, to rest survival upon what is expedient, to look the other way. Well, the answer to that is 'survival as what'? Re: Trailer for Roma Surrectum II
Quite impressive. I only wish they had a randomizer like in MTW to make the legions look less uniform.

Re: Trailer for Roma Surrectum II
Is there any reason why they couldn't have moved to M2TW for the sequel?

Re: Trailer for Roma Surrectum II
They wanted to see how far they can push the RTW game engine, and also because it is easier and faster to create a classical era mod on the RTW game engine.Artemas wrote:Is there any reason why they couldn't have moved to M2TW for the sequel?

Re: Trailer for Roma Surrectum II
It also has something to do with most modders still being RTW modders. MTW and ETW never got the same modders as RTW did, most likely due to many of them being disgusted with CA still having the same bugs in subsequent releases which mods already fixed.
Oh, and a lot of MTW code is RTW code. For example, you will still see the event "marian reform" in MTW code.

There are plans and discussion about the possibilities for the RS team to move to the M2TW engine in the near future, but there is no concrete plans yet as the team wants to finish their RTW mod first.Thanas wrote:It also has something to do with most modders still being RTW modders.
