Republican Debate XXIV Oh daaamn

Post by Mr Bean »

Debate is ongoing, CNN debate
Livestream

Lets call this debate, Oh daaamn because of the number knives throw back and forth between Romeny and Newt.

I'm not kidding I've seen SIX back and forths that were brutal and we are only 31 minutes in.

Make that seven brutal exchanges with Santorum jumping all over both Newt and Mittens for their exchanges. No kidding there have been more back and forths which would be headline news at any other debate fast and furious in the last forty minutes now.

The Crowd is turning on Wolf something fierce at this point. He asked a fair question to Newt and the crowd booed the hell out of him. It's the third time that's happened now. Wolf's not backing down luckily.

Heh Paul gets a fine response on the age question in which he responds to the question about heath saying he could kick the ass of anyone else on stage in a bike or track race of their choice.

It has become clear to me in the previous days that any attempts at reconciliation and explanation with the community here has failed. I have tried my best. I really have. I pored my heart out trying. But it was all for nothing.

You win. There, I have said it.

Now there is only one thing left to do. Let us see if I can sum up the strength needed to end things once and for all.

They have eased back much since Santorum stepped in to stop the sniping. Newt keeps jabbing but they are much more cautious than the drag out bare knuckle affair going on earlier.

Also they just spent 5 minutes talking about Heathcare and make the case for Government Heathcare except left off the Government portion but Newt pretty much described the heathcare system we could expect to get from a US Public Heathcare system.

You know, I generally don't give a shit about American politics, but I have to say I enjoy reading Bean's comments in the voice of a sport commentator. That's some pretty entertaining stuff right there.

Commerical break upcoming question.
Why would your wife make the best first lady.
What... the... fuck....

Who cares? I follow politics 24/7, every tiny little bit of news I jump on like a starving badger and I can't think of a more useless question to ask in a Presidential debate. Are you expecting someone to call Newt's wife a whore?

It was as boring as expected but Santorum has seven kids and Paul has a total of 18 grandkids.

I'm amazed how they asked a question that was essentially "how close are you to Ronald Regean?" Is there a comparable cult of a former political leader out there in other developed countries? Because we don't have that were I'm from.

Santorum repeats the idea that Cuba is teaming up on Iran to have new missile bases.

Santorum's Cuba paranoia is hilarious. The Marxist thing at least has some grounding in reality even if it is ridiculous. But missiles from Iran? I can't believe this guy can run for candidate of a major party.

Plus that they consider Latin America to be an American playground is its own thing.

EDIT: I also like how little they understand about how much the common Cuban people despise the US. That's not an anti-Capitalist thing, when I've been there they love Canadians and Europeans, its specific to Americans.

Where are these debates being held? How is Gingrich so successful in getting audiences who will boo the announcer for asking him awkward questions?

Come to think of it, I'm not sure he could get away with that in the general election or its debates...

No one wants to touch that one on Porto Rican statehood. Which was an entirely fair question from the audience too.

Interesting question, How would your religious beliefs impact your actions

Shame Paul goes first, he has a nice reasonable response, it would not impact my actions
*Edit never mind after Paul goes reasonable but the rest still go crazy.

Mittens says he agreed but he'd ask providence for help and throws in America is a Christian Country... which it's not.

Newt says he must go to god because Mortals are terrible at decision making. Newt also says Christians are persecuted minority.

Santorum is of the opinion that the US constitution is god written and our rights are God given. I thought he would be the most crazy but he was only 3rd nutty with only Paul getting in the correct answer of "My religion does not affect my judgement".

Last question: One reason why you'd be the best to beat Obama. Good fair question

Paul, I beat Obama in national polls, also I plan on doing things Progressives wish Obama would do so I'd steal his votes as well as getting Republican drone votes = automatic win.

Newt seems to be in love with the Foodstamps line, it does not play well except in South Carolina. His answer was very meh.

Santorum used his time to attack Newt and Romeny not really point out his strong suits.

I totally slept through Mittens response.

And the debate is over. Florida's primary is Tuesday and I'm thinking Santorum and Paul looked the best out of this debate. No major fuckups from Romeny or Newt but rather a long list of bodyblows and personal attacks.

I rated Monday's debate a 3/10, this debate was defiantly a 8/10 if you add in the second hour because the first hour was awesome.

About on par with the nuthouse so far. Paul making it about kicking ass only narrowly avoids me dumping him into the 'Fucking Retard' box with last year's of Guiliani after the knife fights because it's at least about real athleticism and on a question about health.

Newt's basically done. He got routed by Romney with help from Sanotorum. Paul is continuing to become an Also Ran for another year. Romney came out ahead only because Newt's going down in flames. Gingrich will still have a strong showing with the Space Coast and the Cuban Exiles. Santorum, however, is probably gonna get a spike. We'll see if it'll last.

Imagine a control room staffed to capacity. Add a dozen more people and make it ten times louder. Throw in a touch of exhausted crew. Whee!
