I had a similar problem last night. It took forever for the post to show up, and even then, I don't think the BBS counted it. Hopefully it will get fixed.

My guess is, the server likes you as much as the next guy does. And we all know how much that is, don't we?

I guess I could justify this attack by saying that only a fucking idiot would demand flawless performance out of a heavily taxed server that's being hosted for free by an overworked father of two. But I won't, because in all likelyhood, you'd just go right on assuming it had something to do with taking away your guns.

The other server got seriously overloaded, so we switched to this one, which also has performance problems. I'm trying to get ahold of Lord MJ to see if I can convince him to upgrade to MySQL 4.0.12, which should help (we're currently running an older version).

Some points:

1.) Wong has done tests using a cheap 600mhz shitbox at his house as
the server for SDN, and it runs as good or better than Lord MJ's
multi-gigahertz server.

2.) Isn't it about time that we stopped this charade and went
to a subscription format to support a much much better server,
the way that SomethingAwful did?
