Old Woman & an Umbrella
Got this from a forwarded e-mail:
An Army captain stationed in DC recounts an event he witnessed:
To nobody's surprise there were protestors today in DC. They attempted to disrupt the metro system and block the Key Bridge, a leading artery into DC from Northern Virginia. I got hosed twice because I come in from No. VA on the metro and it is raining hard which makes traffic worse anyway...to the point--
When I was getting on the train, there were protestors on the train platform handing out pamphlets on the evils of America. I politely declined to take one.
An elderly woman was behind me getting off the escalator and a young (20ish) female protestor offered her a pamphlet, which she politely declined. The young protestor put her hand on the old woman's shoulder in a gesture of friendship and in a very soft voice said, "Ma'am, don't you care about the children of Iraq?" The old woman looked up at her and said, "Honey, my first husband died in France during World War II so you could have the right to stand here and bad mouth your country. And if you touch me again, I'll stick this umbrella up your ass and open it."

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

Well, it is relatively new. If it's not up there on a week, then it probably didn't reach them.Durran Korr wrote:I checked Snopes, nothing on it yet.Durandal wrote:I doubt it. Anyway, I wouldn't be suprised if it happened.

I doubt the validity of this account
"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."
I'm suspicious of any of these stupid assed claims. Same shit happened right after 9/11. The story with the professors in a restaurant and some military people, if you recall it , was but one of the bullshit propaganda stories.
One of Karl Rove's republican talking points involves labelling antiwar protestors as jobless hippies. I'd wager that the anti-anti-war protestors are just as bad, if not worse. They seem to have nothing better to do than to send out propaganda emails on company time and shout "YOU UNAMERICAN BASTARDS" at people in the street.

I would say the anti-anti-war crowd has done some really immature stuff in the past (Whenever someone famous says something they remotely disagree with, they boycott all of his or her work, regardless of whether the views are expressed in it or not). However, they haven't been as bad as some people in the anti-war group.Nathan F wrote:*grumble in the general direction of Hameru*Hameru wrote:I'm suspicious of any of these stupid assed claims. And if that old lady was really so pro-American and all that, then shouldn't she have been applauding the protestor for excercising her right to free speech that her husband died so that it might live on? After all, thats American...

Over here, pro-American and pro-Shrub are mutually inclusive terms, or didn't you know?weemadando wrote:Sounds like it to me.Durandal wrote:I doubt it. It's just yet another "lol!!!!1 sum1 mde stoopid antiwar protestr look stooopid!!!!!!!1111 huhuhu!!!" E-mail.
