I beat Wind Waker! *Soul crushing spoilers*

After 17 and a half hours of gameplay, all items, and 12 hearts, I beat the newest installment in the Legend of Zelda. While I did enjoy this one more than the previous three(Orcales and MM) I'm not sure if I liked it more than OoT. Their were a lot of things in WW that I like more than OoT, like it being darker. If Hyrule being flooded by the gods to stop Ganon, or an inhabited island being destroyed by Ganon wasn't enough, than Ganon taking over a food and a half of mythril(or whatever the master sword is made of) into his forehead and down his body should do it. I also enjoyed the final fight more. While Ganon's forms were comical like everything else in this game, they weren't just a push over, and while I did it in one try, I felt like that it was what it was suppose to be, the greatest challenge in the game. But it was short, only 4-6 dungeons(depending on what you consider the forsaken fortress), and most of the time was taken up by going from island to island. (seriously I think this is how the thoughts went on in Miyamoto's brain, "WHAT? Thier bitching about the size of Hyrule field? HA I'll show those crybabies!"

Oh yeah, and I only died once, to a giant pig on outset island.

...

And I don't mean a Moblin... :(

Bah, your late. My friend beat it five days ago. Said OoT was better. And he says that when Link takes out the WW and waves it around it looks freakishly stupid.

Yeah, kinda, but this link could cut OoT's link to ribbons with his L337 sword skills, even without the Hurricane Spin. This Link, hands down, is the best with the sword.

Oh I understood the sarcasm...but honestly the second one was just urgh at times.

And the SNES one(which I got for GBA) is still one of the easiest but best of that series.

Wind Waker's absolutely superb, almost but not quite as good as OoT (lack of dungeons). I shall always hold LttP in the highest regard, however, as it was the first game to ever have the Master Sword (the most kickass sword in any game ever). I need to eventually pick up the GBA titles...I have the first game (Awakening, which was kinda stupid) but not the Oracle games...

The Oracles are real fun and actually showed a leap of development...and the two of them link to have a true finale.

The GBA game is a remake with a nice 4-player option and the ability to acquire a new move for LttP.

What move is that?

Not really. The counter only works on offensive enemies. And timed correctly, it's possible to hit the Hero of Winds while he's doing a clockwise uppercut finish for his combo. Fucking Orca pegged me a shitload of times doing that. Sure, he's got Hurricane Spin, but that's not all that good unless you knock the other guy down, kill him, or smash into a wall. Otherwise, you'll spend a second standing with stars around your head. Besides, the Hero of Time's jump attack does double damage, while the Hero of Winds' jump attack does single damage.

And if that doesn't work, Din's Fire.

You got killed by a pig? Alfred Hitchcock's The Pigs!

EDIT: Incidentally, Ganon's attacks only do a single heart of damage, but getting hit by a pig does three hearts of damage. Go figure.

It's like the an ultra spin move...pretty cool, but getting it is a pain(basically a guy asks for nine items/things around Hyrule)

I did not care for this game, which led me to give it a new name: "Wind breaker."

Something I wasn't clear on...was Hyrule split into a bunch of islands, or was there a mainland, or did it not take place in Hyrule at all?

Time line is screwy because this one is the alternate OoT timeline(aka Adult Link's time...when Ganon pummeled the planet)

Well, I don't think this is a spoiler (explained before you started the game IIRC) but Ganon appeared again and ravaged the land; the people implored the gods, desperate for the return of the Hero, but that didn't happen, so the Gods instead flooded the land and the mountaintops became islands.

When and who explained that Hyrule was turned into the Great Sea? The intro to the game just says that Hyrule disappeared from the world. The manual said the same thing.

King of the Red Lions tells you after Tetra is revealed to be Princess Zelda(who looked like a 10 cent WHORE!). Ganon came, the hero of time didn't show up, so the gods flooded all of Hyrule to stop him. It fits perfectly into the time line, the closest one to MM but before the oracles and LttP. Because, in WW the Triforce is reassembled, in oracles and LttP it's in one piece so they take place afterwards.(And I'm thinking Oracles before LttP because Twinrovra is not in LttP)

Oh yeah. That. *slap*

There's no way that Wind Waker takes place before any of the other games, except maybe Orcales and Link's Awakening. After all, Hyrule is destroyed at the end of Wind Waker. And I refuse to believe that after they do find another continent to be the next Hyrule, that there would just happen to be a lake name Hylia, a forest named the Lost Woods, and a volcano named Death Mountain. Also, the condition of the Triforce isn't that good of an indicator, because in the first Zelda, the Triforce was in three pieces again.

The Deku Tree solved that problem incase you didn't notice it. It' hints to it, planting trees to connect Hyrule, the seeds of the future as he tells it. And at the end you get a line on a black screen "I have planted the seeds of the future."

And in the first Zelda, the triforce is in 9 pieces because Zelda broke it apart to protect it from Ganon.

Edit: misread his comment. Deleted a sentence.
