Cherish the Ladies

Post by Knife »

Ok, today I got a rare treat (seeing the time, yesterday I got a treat) because me and the wife went to SaltLake and saw the Utah Symphony with Keith Lockhart and Guest Artists "Cherish the Ladies".

Wow, it was a Celtic theme and was brilliant. As for Keith Lockheart, well he is a conductor and while I think that conductors just stand there alot (maybe Zaia can set me straight) the symphony was wonderful. The guest artists were a bonus and played with the symphony. Their singer was awesome (in the original context of awesome) and the use of penny flutes was magical.

We got to hear such wonderful tunes as "Fir and Far Medley", "Homesteaders", and "The Ballad of the Foxhunter" which is a Yeates thing and was sung by their singer. Alot of this was just instramental but when the singer cut in....WOAH....

Also in the mix was "Castle of Dromore" and "Danny Boy", man what a night. True that I had to dress up in a monkey suit for it, but to be honest, I don't mind. I enjoyed my self completely. (So na.)

Any hoo, has anyone heard these "Cherish the Ladies"?
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red
