For Story: DC/Crossgen

For liscences: Dark Horse

Screw Marvel and their dumb ass X Men. For all you Marvel lovers, get off the freggin' X Men bandwagon. They SUCK!

That being said, I like DC.

I really liked Valiant at one time. They really went to crap about the time they were bought by Acclaim.

Before that I liked Marvel the best. Now, I'd probably say it's DC but that's mostly because I only buy one shots and graphic novel collections now.

I've been a Marvel fan all my life. I've been a Daredevil fan since before it was cool to be a Daredevil fan.

I also love DC (esp. Batman and the Flash), but not as much as I love Marvel.
Everybody else has their place, but those places come after Marvel and DC (what can I say? I love old-fashioned superheroes).

It wasn't your fault. It's a software bug and happens often. There's nothing I can do.

Yeah, Tysroc...Valiant was good, until they got completely revamped(urgh).

There were a couple other indies that were good, that just died(be it funding or professional).

As for loving Marvel for X-Men...the sad truth is they were good(then again so was a lot of books at one time or another)...my reason for despising X-Men is that all they do along with a great many Marvel(I used to love Spidey, DD, a Whole slew..my collection reads as a who's who of Marvel), they fucking ret-con or just redo old stories....nothing more.

Upon hearing what Jemas/Quesada want to this year and the shit they have done...I have little hope for Mainstream Marvel.(Epic is fucking joke and might as well be another bastion of T&A and profanity because it's more adult)

DC at times isn't better, but tries harder. Sometime they produce top-notch...other time they have to revamp until god-hood(No offense but Superman has been lacking for years...he gets a new dilema...finds solution...QED) Batman hits the wall o eh many times, but Detective Comics has gotten much better over the years. Too bad most of PAD's title are gone.

Image varies...literally from person to person.

Dark Horse...seriously needs more. Some of the regulars I loved but nowadays without Star Wars and liscenses tjhey are much.

Crossgen...those need to be trades. Great stories but at times completely unfit for a monthly format(poor monthly pacing....fantastic tradepaper back pacing)

As for indies other then such I recommend Rich Henn, Steve Connely as well as Jeff Gallaher(Buzzboy)....and Didymous(okay cheap plus :P ). But the others I recommend.

I dont like Marvel too much myself either. Personally just because its too comercial for me. I hated the X-man movie, the spiderman movie was too XP, but daredevil was nice. I think DC has had the best superhero movies, just because Batman 1 and 2 fucking rawked. Spawn..... was decent... and i have no idea why im even talking about this. Maybe i should take a nap.

I would pick Cartoon Books, as they're the only ones who haven't pissed me off one time or another, plus they publish 'Bone', which is without a doubt, my favorite series.

Phil Foglio's company, whatever it's called, Light Speed Press (Finder), Antarctic, SLG, Viz for my manga fix, and then Vertigo from DC for Lucifer, Hellblazer, the Filth, and whatever graphic novels I can afford, and then I poke around with Marvel, maybe pick up some Exiles, and the X-book that Morrison's doing.

Stampede, you just said Marvel has better characters, yet you are a fan of the Blue Beetle?

yes, but the Blue Beetle was the only DC character i REALLY liked enough to buy the books. plus i was writing that post while you had posted that he was DC. so i didnt know he was DC til after i posted. if it makes you feel any better...i think that the Blue Beetle could kick any of the Marvel characters asses and i shouldve said that Marvel has more interesting characters.

Tokyopop,
Dark Horse,
IronCat Studio (Vampire Princess Miyu),
CPM Comics (Slayers),
Radio Comix,
Raijin Comic,
Antarctic Press
Viz; if only their trades were cheaper

Marvel, DC and Image and etc. I usually only buy discounted books and trades from them.

I guess right now the stuff I buy the most are TPB by:

America's Best Comics (lots of good Alan Moore stuff)
Wildstorm (the Authority, Planetary)
DC (mostly JLA, Batman)
Marvel (the Avengers, various Ultimates although it looks like they might be crapping out already)

- Blue Beetle is currently in Birds of Prey...will be in a Keith Giffen JLA spin off series.

- Cloak and Dagger are Marvel.

- ROM was a good series, though they always skirted the damn Dire Wraiths and what happened to them(brought them back from a biut in New Warriors...then zilcho)
