Disgruntled fan.
Seriously I get these every year screaming about comics are dying.
At least he tries to make points, but a few are too biased for their own good.

With the number of rabid fanwhores on the rise, anime fandom is in desperate need of a good culling.
This is especially important because the Japanese economy has been in a slump for the past decade, and to make up for that lack, anime producers have been looking at tastes across the Pacific, in America, where lies the largest market for animation (and the second largest market for Japanese animation) in the world.

I'd agree with that to a point.. some animes just stand out more though than mere cartoons a la Simpsons and Kim Possible.Slartibartfast wrote:Great site. I agree with almost all points in there, specially that "anime" are simply cartoons. Cartoons != Mickey Mouse. Cartoons = ANY animated show.
The fanboys screaming "anime isn't cartoons, it is more!" really annoy me.

How about "mere" cartoons as Batman, Batman Beyond, and Spawn? Did you miss the point entirely? There's nothing in the dictionary definition of "cartoon" that says "it must not have mature content" or "it cannot come from Japan".Trytostaydead wrote:I'd agree with that to a point.. some animes just stand out more though than mere cartoons a la Simpsons and Kim Possible.Slartibartfast wrote:Great site. Well, it's actually another actor doing his voice, but the storylines and stunts are pure Jackie. I now have nearly all the Eps taed thanks to Fox Kids Easter Fortnight bonanza.Admiral Valdemar wrote:Now THAT kicked arse, had his voice in and everything.Rob Wilson wrote:"O-o-one more thing! They did, but the distributor was an arsehole. They only realesed 'themed' groupings of shows, and then chopped of the pretitle sequences. Rumours are that Jackie Production company are waiting for that lots licencing to run out and will then handle the DVD side themselves.HemlockGrey wrote:Damn, I wish they'd realize JCA DVD's.
In the meantime, I have my tape collection to tide me over.

I kinda hate the animation though. The fights are way too slow and clumsy. Too many moves but no actual mobilityAdmiral Valdemar wrote:Now THAT kicked arse, had his voice in and everything.Rob Wilson wrote:"O-o-one more thing! If you're not an Otaku, or at least know what it means, chances are you couldn't care less about his page anyway.Simon H.Johansen wrote:But how many westerners have even heard of an "otaku"???Slartibartfast wrote:Yes, the name is misleading.Simon H.Johansen wrote: But shouldn't it be the "Amazing Anti-Otaku Site" instead of "Amazing Anti-Anime Site"??

It put me off at first, hence my having to play catch up after 3 seasons, but it soon becomes subordinate to the characters and the story, so i tend not to notice it now. As to the moblity, it's stared to improve, less stunts happening in one point and more moving 'camera' work. A very nice progression in style and range of stunts over the seasons.Slartibartfast wrote:I kinda hate the animation though. The fights are way too slow and clumsy.
