Fire, and the things you cook with it.
Well a couple weeks back I bought a grill for my poor slab of concrete I call a porch...regardless.
I am loving this thing...have always loved grilled food, and now having this baby...loving it more.
So what kind do you like(charcoal or gas) and what foods do you grill?

I don't grill, personally, but I like pretty much anything grilled, especially fish and chicken.
MY GOD, how could I forget my favorite meal? Big, rare, quivering steak.

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

Steaks really are great on a grill, but pan seared has it's upside when done correctly.
Pork is fantastic when grilled. A fattier cut is actually better for the grill, I believe. Just watch for flare-ups.
Some fish isn't really suitable, unless you use skewers.
Mmmmm, chicken! Not a big fan of barbeque sauce, but with grilled chicken, oh baby!
And charcoal first for me!

I myself don't grill, but my dad grills the occasional hamburgers over a charcoal fire. They're good if they're cooked just right. I've also had grilled steaks, and they're pretty good too if not overcooked or undercooked.
What would I like to grill? One hell of a steak, of course.

Well, 2.5 months from now I'm starting a 1000 km canoe trip from La Loche to Cumberland House, so for six weeks I'll be cooking everything over wood.Ghost Rider wrote:Well a couple weeks back I bought a grill for my poor slab of concrete I call a porch...regardless.

Brisket.

Plus you need to have Mohoginy (sp?) chips instead of charcol.

They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong
But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Charcoal. Gas is lame. If you want gas or a similarly "convenient" heat source, just buy a small electric grill and forget all about it.Ghost Rider wrote:Well a couple weeks back I bought a grill for my poor slab of concrete I call a porch...regardless.

I usually grill meat, or those big sausage-like things (that I don't know how to translate) fileld with grinded stuff (that I don't know how to identify), or in some cases, 99% beef.
Of course potatoes to go along with them. And those tiny little sausages too. There's also chicken if you like that sort of thing, but I've heard that chicken in the US is crap.
The BEST thing you can do is slow-cook a big piece of meat (like 10 kg or more), for 2 or 3 hours. It's the best thing ever.

Propane. Taste the meat, not the heat.
Any city gets what it admires, will pay for, and, ultimately, deserves…We want and deserve tin-can architecture in a tinhorn culture. And we will probably be judged not by the monuments we build but by those we have destroyed.--Ada Louise Huxtable, "Farewell to Penn Station", New York Times editorial, 30 October 1963
