It would be good to obtain a transcript of one of his previous debates. Creationists invariably rely on really catchy one-liner slogans and folksy but totally false analogies rather than logical argument, and it helps to have reasonably catchy rejoinders ready.

Also, the guy debating him must be mindful to keep rebuttals at the ready for the inevitable "then explain to me how ..." arguments, which can be thrown out willy-nilly until he finally hits a subject you don't know like the back of your hand, at which point the prick will instantly declare victory, to an adoring AMEN from his crowd of well-wishers.

Also, it's good to keep a large list of Christian evolutionist statements on hand, to deflate his attempt to get all the Christians in the audience on his side by default. And finally, anyone debating him must beware overconfidence. The fact that he's a total scientific ignoramus does not mean he won't be able to sway the crowd. They're ignoramuses too. Your anthro prof must simultaneously defeat him in debate AND educate the audience without offending them or seeming condescending. It's a more difficult challenge than it may seem on the surface.

Just in case you get to talk to the anthro prof and warn him before the debate.

Yes, I have spoken with him. As a matter of fact, my prof., Dr. Murad, is one of the only board certified forensic anthropologists in Ca. But, he is also a smart ass. It should be interesting to see him retort to the stupidity that Hovind puts out.
