"The 6th Day" universe

Post by Alferd Packer »

You know, this movie raises some interesting ideas related to cloning, especially about that whole 'syncording' business. In the movie, they take a syncording of Arnold to see where his clone is at. When they view it, they discover that he's created a 'false' memory to make them think his clone is far away. So it got me thinking:

If they took that syncording, or any syncording for that matter, and made a clone with it, would it know that the memory was false? Is a syncording just a "videotape" of a person's recollections, or does it include the smells, sounds, and associations the person makes with each unique memory? Maybe I wasn't paying attention for that part of the movie, but it seems like it's something that should've been considered when they drafted the script.

Thoughts?

Well they were watching the syncording of what he saw instead of the syncording being implanted into the brain so that the other things like memory were incoporated.
