Imagine pressure from your HMO to either abort or be dropped from coverage.

Would that affect wrongful birth suits?

It certainly would, and it also opens up liability on the HMO for duress claims. If anyone wants, I can drop an E-mail to my Torts prof. for his opinion. The real kicker is the "wrongful life" suit, where the child sues that s/he is better off dead. Who here wants to sit on the jury for such a case.
