Okay, I have no idea what the hell you are talking about, but my situation varies...IRL, midnight means AT NIGHT, meaning, befor ethe day ends. However, in Diplomacy games that I play over at Redscape, Midnight means BEFOR ETHE DAY BEGINS. So there. I just voted before the day ends, tho, because I DO have a life...

I remember once I was reading a handout over a fellow student's shoulder. It was about project deadlines, but I misread it. For some time I pondered about exactly how deadly a project could be.

Well, getting something done precisely at midnight (12:00:00:000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000AM) is almost impossible, so I'd say Saturday morning.

It's much better to say by midnight instead of at midnight. That prevents confusion.

At Hollywood video, if a movie is due on Friday, we tell you it's due "Friday by midnight," not "Saturday at midnight."

That aside, if it's "Friday at midnight," it's Friday at midnight, which occurs just after Friday at 23:59.

Personally, I cannot stand people who are constantly tardy. I remember that in college I had one class in which more than a third of the students were consistently more than five minutes late. I try to make a point to get things done punctually, as it really helps to be finished with something so you can spend some time fine-tuning it before you have to present it.
