Continuous Phaser Beams

Post by trackball »

I've been wondering, what is the longest a Federation ship has been observed firing a continuous phaser beam? Not counting low-powered shots like the emergency cesarean section from the TNG episode Galaxy's Child. I'm not interested in dialogue stating what can be done, just an actual on-screen occurance.
Crom, I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, and why we died. All that matters is that today, two stood against many. Valor pleases you, so grant me this one request. Grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, the HELL with you!

TOS "Who Mourns for Adonais?"
"This is supposed to be a happy occasion... Let's not bicker and argue about who killed who."
-- The King of Swamp Castle, Monty Python and the Holy Grail

"Nothing of consequence happened today. " -- Diary of King George III, July 4, 1776

"This is not bad; this is a conspiracy to remove happiness from existence. It seeks to wrap its hedgehog hand around the still beating heart of the personification of good and squeeze until it is stilled."
-- Chuck Sonnenburg on Voyager's "Elogium"
