What do you Brits call the American Revolution?

Well? Which do you call it?

The American Revolution?
The American War for Independence?
The Revolutionary War?

I used to think you called it the 9-years War, but then I was just doing some research and found out that that's the name of some Irish war or something. So, to sate my curiosity, please tell me what you living, breathing Brits call the war.

Well, I, myself, because I am a student of history, call it England's Greatest Victory. Think about it. We lost 13 colonies which were a bitch to keep. We now have the lone Superpower as our friend. Tell me we didn't win big there.

Well, you probably shouldn't have let us [Canada] become a sovereign nation. Then you would have had a huge amount of trees and water to sell to the US.

The American Colonies were the most expensive (financially and militarily) colonies that Britain had. All those taxes that the people went up in arms against, the quartering of soldiers, was FOR THEIR OWN BENEFIT. He really was better off without them.

whats funny is, britain lost the 13 colonies, and eventually superpower status, but now people hate america and not britain, so britani can sit back with their rich selves and chuckle because the US just made Britain rich and safe. :p
